They certainly have mate. And Pearce has consistently said the review meeting will decide Rodgers's fate whereas the likes of Barrett has said Rodgers has the backing of the club. Hopefully next week we'll know whats what.

It seems like James Pearce is being briefed by Rodgers and some of his articles have been quick to shift most of the blame onto the transfer committee and the owners strategy.

This week though the likes of Neil jones and Ian Doyle I think have been on Rodgers case, but Pearce points the finger at others.

The square peg article for me is his way of saying that Rodgers isn't behind this signing. Why sign benteke when he bombed out Carroll without giving him a chance. Lambert fair enough is 4th choice but benteke at that money should be our no.1 striker.

Pearce also makes clear that its the transfer committee who have made benteke their main target. All he says about Rodgers on the transfer is that he doesn't fit his style.

Very strange one really. Why a vast proportion of all your cash on a striker that the manager cant use or doesn't want to use.

James Pearce has been Rodgers' mouthpiece for most of the season but you're right in something changed since the Stoke game after which he became quite scathing of the manager. I thought it was a rat deserting a sinking ship. If Brendan is now staying he might have burnt some bridges and feels he might as well try keeping the fire lit.

Pearce has taken a lot of stick on twitter for being very pro Rodgers this week. But his first article criticising Rodgers came out this week after the stoke defeat. Before that point it was everyone else's fault.

But looking at benteke its just an odd fit. But if Lambert and balotelli cant get a game for us why would benteke. Hes better than those two but still a target man.
