    Yay Brendan Rodgers. Yay.

I think its a massive, massive wrong step sticking with him and the means of getting players in through the door. The whole thing looks shaky from top to bottom - a proper house of cards. Is this a status quo in the run up to a sale once the stadium is sorted?

Good luck to Brendan with the fanbase though - he's going to need it. I think the relationship was irrevocable after the semi final, let alone the 6-1.

No surprise to anyone really. PR stunt by FSG...slap on the hand there Brendan. Load of bollox. They've backed him, he'll be here next season...now lets spend some ****ing money on the bet players we can get & not only ones that they see when the log into their fantasy football account.

I'll laugh if we win a few games at the start of the season and Rodgers makes a comment about the fans wanting him out in the summer

At least we now know the extent of the owners ambition.

I can't believe he hasn't been sacked. Mid table looks to be a good shout.

How the **** can it be 'positive' after than disaster of a season?

If the fella has a pair of balls he'd resign.. "Judge me after 3 season".. Times up Brendan, unlucky you failed.

Indicators pointing towards Rodgers keeping his job at Liverpool right now.

              Feelings on that, Reds?

Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers holds 'positive' talks with club chairman Tom Werner

FSG figurehead will also be involved in attempt to seal James Milner Anfield switch

Brendan Rodgers has today held “positive” talks with Liverpool chairman Tom Werner as part of the club's end-of-season review.

Rodgers met with Werner and Fenway Sports Group executive Mike Gordon in Liverpool city centre to assess a disappointing campaign with the Reds having failed to win silverware or qualification to the Champions League.

The talks are believed to have been progressive, with both parties having agreed to move forward together.

It would therefore confirm the long-held belief there is no appetite for FSG to change manager despite Rodgers commenting after the dire 6-1 defeat to Stoke City on the final day of the campaign that “if the owners want me to go, then I go”.

Rodgers was expected to be quizzed on where the season went wrong, what mistakes were made, his opinion of the transfer committee and his plans for the future.

Werner arrived in Merseyside on Monday night, with completing a free transfer deal for chief summer target James Milner also high on his agenda.

I don't think Brendan's good enough for Liverpool. He's been shambolic tactically, he oversaw a 6-1 defeat and his philosophy has been shown up every time he reverts back to it. This is the lowest I have felt about a manager at Liverpool, Hodgson aside.

That 6-1 should have been a sackable offence, its should have been the end for him.

Whether you agree with the outcome or not, surely nobody can be happy about this bull**** review process played out in the media. Just talk to each other like any normal people would, make decisions and act on them. The pointless theatre of a pretend structured and objective process that someone learned on an investors in people course is just stupid and embarrassing.

Cant help but feel its some misguided show of faith. Possibly linked with any intention to sell - stable management team is pretty key, and being able to say they have been in place long term. Getting rid now would signal they dont believe they are performing so I reckon they think that holding on is the stronger move, but cant help but feel it will bite them, and us.

It is what we all expected but I still can't believe he's supposedly survived. After Stoke I thought there was no way he'd be here next season. The reasons to get rid had really stacked up. Presumably there'll be a statement from the club....it will be interesting to hear their reasoning for this cop out.

It was as embarrassing as his recruitment in the first place - the "shortlist" being widely known, publicised and talked about like it was a ****ing elimination reality TV show.

I'm in danger of letting loose on a cliche ridden anger rant, but I'm counting to 10 and breathing into a paper bag.

I hope that FSG really did try to sound out a better alternative. If it's true that Rodgers is stopping here then to me it just proves that FSG are not bothered about the club. If they were looking to build success then he would have been sacked today and the club's owners would have either brought in a new manager or invited someone to take over as interim manager until someone suitable became available.
