Anyway, was watching the Godfather trilogy the other week. There's a line in it that one of the guys in the Sopranos used to mimic : "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me right back in!".

That's how I feel with these Rodgers rumours every other day. Just get it in my head he's staying & then someone posts a rumour! Would love to just know one way or another for absolute certain. Roll on pre season training.
    Forwards.......

I know I know - Klopp had a poor season too. Overall he's done a good job there but tbh I'd be surprised if we booted Brendan to replace him with De Boer. I don't think his achievements/CV match up to Klopp's.
          de Boer:

I don't think their CV's are all that different, except Klopp never won anything as a player - but again many good mangers havn't.

Both have done well IMO, and it's really only the CL runners up that really looks a bit different. Taking in to consideration the spectacle of Klopp's personality I'm not so certain that many would say one one is much better than the other.

de Boer is a much more straight fit IMO, both in what you say and philosophy overall. I do think Klopp's style would be more exciting, but I also think it would take longer to implement. We are quite a bit off a team with that attitude and presseing style atm.

An unfortunate name but I don't see the fuss. Not even Chelsea could keep two keepers of similar level happy. Bogdan is better than Jones for me & that's a step in the right direction.

Mignolet gets another season and if he's no better we can look to improve next summer. Too many positions to look at right now.

Yup, he's a back up keeper not an essential part of the squad to spend money on at the moment

Don't agree there. I think even on paper that Klopp's achievements in Germany overshadows de Boer's multiple title wins with Ajax in Eredivisie.

I don't think there's a massive amount in it overall but Klopp's Bundesliga titles are more impressive than de Boer winning however many Eredivisie titles. I know Dortmund aren't minnows and won a title or two in the mid/late 90s and one in the early 00s, but still to overcome this modern day Bayern outfit, twice, and the way the did it, is fairly significant and IMO a good bit more impressive than anything FdB has done.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We've got our first friendly in 3 weeks, and most of the big managerial moves have happened. I really cannot see it being true, and right now, it's either Klopp or Rodgers for me. His agent was practically doing a Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct during the interview he did not so long ago. His record and personality make him the one for me. Otherwise, my mind has settled on Rodgers for the new season.

Would de Boer attract better players to the club than Brendan Rodgers could? I'm fairly certain he would. He can bring Fischer with him for starters.

Aye. He's just become a bit of a lazy meme.

I don't remember Padelli being referenced each time transfer strategy got discussed.

Klopp's are impressive looking at where Dortmund where. But teams like Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg have also managed to grap a title, so it's not unusual in Germany after all. Just saying that it's a bit harsh detracting from de Boer from it being the Bundesliga considering everything he's won as manager and player. Even if it's the Dutch league - there is still some competition there after all

Bayern were treading water, Klopp took advantage, but as soon as Bayern flexed their muscles they were right back at the top. Not blaming Klopp, you have your best players taken by your main rivals, eventually it tips the scales in their favour.

But as shown last season, his methods take time to set in and I read a good article stressing how difficult it is to carry off the Dortmund tactics. You need ultra switched on players. Lose a few components and it can all fall down.

I guess Rodgers could sympathise, he lost Suarez and others and his world caved in.
