Colin Pascoe no previous managerial experience but here's a job at one of the biggest clubs in the world....crazy not to have some experience at hand to help a novice manager out....i don't care if we finished second that's down to Suarez and a fit Sturridge........where was Pascoe's help for Rodgers at the tail end of last season? This is LFC you want a rookie manager fine then get him the right backroom help ...Like the old Bootroom days! MOFO'S

Or Paul Clemant, Mike Phelan, Steve Clarke and Patt Rice.Originally posted by Muddled View PostWho has Rui Faria or Steve Bould previously managed?
Point being that you dont need to be an experienced manager to be a good assistant.
I have no clue on Pascoe though. Dont know if he is good, or bad.
*Except Michael, who died.

At what point does Rodgers stop being a Rookie manager then? He has been doing it for 7/8 years now. Same amount of time as Jose when he took over at Inter.Originally posted by Bender View PostSteve Bould isn't working under a rookie manager....Wenger has won things....*Except Michael, who died.

with little success as well.....rookie manager interms of managing LFC with no experienced backroom staff!Originally posted by Alex View PostAt what point does Rodgers stop being a Rookie manager then? He has been doing it for 7/8 years now. Same amount of time as Jose when he took over at Inter.

How do you mean?Originally posted by Bender View Postwith little success as well.....rookie manager interms of managing LFC with no experienced backroom staff!
I know he hasnt won anything, and thats a bit of a problem. 2nd isnt a trophy. But he isnt a Rookie anyway you slice it now.
3 years at Liverpool, 8 Years in Management and a few years before that working under various people including Mourinho at Chelsea.
The experienced back room staff might be a good point, as at times he seemed like he was trying to be too clever with things, but I dont know. I am not sure that getting a big name assistant in to help him will sort it.*Except Michael, who died.

If the club bring in somebody like hyypia or carragher to be the de facto 'defensive coach', brendan rodgers wont tweek his philosophy to recommendations from this defensive coach.Originally posted by Alex View PostHow do you mean?

it would entail an entirely new philosophy.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

forget the little success thing....what did Henry see in Rodgers? who knows or was it the gift of the gab!point is he has little success in management he's in charge of one of the big clubs in the world....i don't believe it helps him having Pascoe other than as a personel friend......imo i feel it would help Rodgers as a manager if he had someone with managerial experiece or even a top assistant manager.....imagine if kenny was his assistant ...just an example. If we want BR to succeed then he needs better/experienced/lfc ...some experience might help us against the top 4 in terms of results, last season br said we lacked bottle or some stuff like that.Originally posted by Alex View PostHow do you mean?

I really don't think Kenny would be comfortable coming in as Rodgers' assistant after being deemed not good enough by the owners and playing second fiddle to the person who replaced him. I also think any manager worth his salt would consider an assistant role as beneath them, so that knocks the historical success caveat on the head.Originally posted by Bender View Postforget the little success thing....what did Henry see in Rodgers? who knows or was it the gift of the gab!point is he has little success in management he's in charge of one of the big clubs in the world....i don't believe it helps him having Pascoe other than as a personel friend......imo i feel it would help Rodgers as a manager if he had someone with managerial experiece or even a top assistant manager.....imagine if kenny was his assistant ...just an example. If we want BR to succeed then he needs better/experienced/lfc ...some experience might help us against the top 4 in terms of results, last season br said we lacked bottle or some stuff like that.
Also, I think it's important that there is that personal connection. They need to know each other and they need to complement each other, covering each other's shortfalls, etc. Randomly plucking out a replacement is not the answer. I'm all for change and perhaps it has become stale. A freshen up on Rodgers' terms may be beneficial for the club.Last edited by Muddled; 05-06-15, 12:26 PM.

I don't think he is decisive. The vast majority want him gone. By all accounts the away support were giving Rodgers pelters towards the end of the season and if you've lost them then you really have lost the fans.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post
He's going to become as divisive a manager as Rafa if he's not already. Can we get a BCDNW acronym on the go? Polarises opinions. Yada yada. It's a familiar debate when the trophy cabinet is empty.
Go for it Foggy, get your CV in - I'll put myself forward as potential Coach (part time)
But anyway, I'm done talking about Rodgers on this forum, it clearly upsets a vocal minority who feel the need to get personal and argue the poster rather than the point and tbh I'm starting to bore myself anyway.
Good luck to him, I hope he makes me eat humble pie. All I want is for Liverpool to be successful.

Too be fair to people, you came into the thread, basically called him a cunt and then buggered off. Hardly a constructive post was it? No real talking was done.Originally posted by captainfog View PostI don't think he is decisive. The vast majority want him gone.
