Never really was fussed on Marsh & Pascoe.. although it does seem like Marsh is being used as a bit of a scapegoat. But sure something had to give.

was using kenny's status/experience as an exampleOriginally posted by Muddled View PostI really don't think Kenny would be comfortable coming in as Rodgers' assistant after being deemed not good enough by the owners and playing second fiddle to the person who replaced him. I also think any manager worth his salt would consider an assistant role as beneath them, so that knocks the historical success caveat on the head.
Also, I think it's important that there is that personal connection. They need to know each other and they need to complement each other, covering each other's shortfalls, etc. Randomly plucking out a replacement is not the answer. I'm all for change and perhaps it has become stale. A freshen up on Rodgers' terms may be beneficial for the club.

The clamour for Sami Hyypia is obvious, given that he's dabbled with management, and is an ex player.
The two outstanding names who haven't managed for a while, are giants of the game, and have been in DOF positions are Johan Cruyff and Arrigo Sacchi. The latter was even rumoured to be returning to AC Milan to tutor Inzaghi, but that was dismissed.
You'd have a winner with no connection to the club come in and be around to help, and advise. Fresh eyes and bags of experience. You can still have Hyypia on the coaching staff, and then someone in a technical capacity. Sacchi has been focusing on the youth side of things lately in Italy, and has been tipped to run AC Milan's academy.
Just some thoughts really.

Surely there are coaches out there who are professional and capable who we haven't heard of? I think it's a good idea to revamp the support staff, challenge Rodgers more and help him out. I also think it's a good PR in that sense they are noticable changes and that's what we want to see since the manager wasn't changed.
I'd like more professional, football people brought in with experience, like a new DOF as well or a new Chief exec who has worked at big clubs before.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Hmm, does seem to undermine the manager.Originally posted by el matador View Posttheres a story saying that pascoe will be gone too but it doesnt make sense. Why would you remove part of the managers support structure. He knows all the training programme, the individual sessions and the aim of all those sessions.
If pascoe does go and they bring in another assistant manager rodgers can't succeed.
I know people are using Fergie as an example, but he had been successful before he arrived at Utd, he was as strong a personality as any in football, changing assistants was usually done because HE thought it had to be done, not because the club said so, or they moved on because they wanted to do something different.

Don't see the big fuss about Marsh. His contract has expired and he obviously wasn't pulling his weight. If he was he'd still be here.
As to who we replace him with, I would hope it is someone Rodgers would be wanting. Anything else and it's just ridiculous. But seeing that his contract has expired I imagine it isn't someone Rodgers was that bothered about keeping when his own contract was up for renewal.Forwards.......

No you dont you want us to fail just to prove your point about Rodgers, you are worse the Sep Blatter or whatever his name is, your like Gary Neville, Sep Blatter and Patrice Evra rolled into one ... Leave Bdog alone you bullyOriginally posted by captainfog View PostI don't think he is decisive. The vast majority want him gone. By all accounts the away support were giving Rodgers pelters towards the end of the season and if you've lost them then you really have lost the fans.
But anyway, I'm done talking about Rodgers on this forum, it clearly upsets a vocal minority who feel the need to get personal and argue the poster rather than the point and tbh I'm starting to bore myself anyway.
Good luck to him, I hope he makes me eat humble pie. All I want is for Liverpool to be successful.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

It was never something enforced on him by the club.
tbh i just don't think using a manager like Fergie as an example for any generalization in football is a good thing to do..
Bit like saying Messi was small when he was young too it never stopped him, just give Joe Allen time.
