Mixed feelings on Marsh. I've always felt - with zero insight - that Marsh is an out-of-his-depth yes man, but now he's been let go I can't help but feel he's being made a bit of a scapegoat. On the other hand it's good to see we're making changes.

Totally, I was going to post the same last night, but have perhaps overstated my 'anti-brodge' position recently (Brendan is so god damned divisive these days). It is a bizarre outcome for a supposedly 'beyond thorough' review. I mean, I again agree, that I don't believe that Marsh has the pedigree to be seen as a big name coach, so I am not overly bothered that he has gone, but for him to be the casualty of last season smacks of him being thrown under the bus. He was obviously brought in to be the Sammy Lee character, and keep the scouse connection on the coaching staff - but there are **** all scousers in the team so I don't see that choosing a coach based on birth place made much sense anyway.

That said, at this point I suppose that we have to be glad that change is in the offing, and hope that a coach can be brought in with experience who can genuinely make a difference.

In any industry experience counts for a lot, and I hope that whomever we do bring in has loads of it, and can bring the 'group' together, and perhaps light a fire under them when we are not playing so well.

Moyoes was won it three times since 2003, Hodgson once, Pardew and Howe, Rodgers and Ferguson. The only non british manager to win it is Wenger, Mourinho has never won it, not Rafa or any other foreign manager. Seems like being british helps a bit. Not saying Rodgers didn't deserve it last year.

He has created that image of himself as a blagger and it's deserved IMO, ha talks to much and sometimes I think he puts too much pressure on the team by talking out of his arse, like when we had a good run he was aiming for second, while Mourinho didn't think his team was in a title race until he won the bloody thing.

Mourinho said at the start of the season his team were title contenders and never said anything different. In fact, he said they'd be contenders this season at the end of last season.
