**** knows what's going on behind the scenes at LFC. If FSG knew anything about football and what it means to be LFC ... There is no way Rodgers could survive this.

      Heaton is a paranoid asshat.

Too many new additions combined with the new players being ill-suited to the tactics of last year. This resulted on a reliance on the old-guard until a new formation suitable for our new players could be implemented.

Rodgers used his tactical nous to devise a system suitable for the squad at his disposal. This began to unravel following a soul-destroying defeat to Manchester United to pretty much seal a place in the Europa League. Our weak mentality and youthful team was then hit for six in another cup semi-final defeat and heads dropped. The fans, the players, pretty much everybody involved wanted the season to end right there and then.

Question marks over Rodgers at certain points during those two spells above, but as I said two thirds of one season out of three does not equate to him being a 'bad manager'.

So, why did we have a good run?

We won four games on the trot - was that our good run? I suppose that wasn't bad, something to give us hope.

The Northern Irishman will sit down with Mike Gordon, owners Fenway Sports Group's key man at Anfield, for a "robust and thorough" end-of-season review this week.

Last week club sources insisted Rodgers' future was not a topic scheduled to be up for discussion and even after the 6-1 mauling at Stoke on Sunday, capping a run of eight points from their final nine matches of the season, Press Association Sport understands that the agenda has not changed.

I'm not saying it's been a great season - it's obviously been far from it. What I'm saying is that Rodgers was a good manager last season and he's still a good manager this season, he's just made a number of errors.

Whether he's the right manager to turn it around and rectify these errors, well, that's up for debate.

No, it was when we went undefeated in the league from 14 December until the 22 March.

As I said yesterday, whatever the clubs intention, now is not the time to brief, hint and leak. Be honest. Show some decency and respect.

                    Brief. Rinse. Repeat.

If the intention is to 'test the water' of fan opinion with a non committal and easily dismissed 'leak'. Then we really are in trouble.

@Andrew_Heaton I've missed something here - what's the purported leak?

@lovefutebol 'Briefings' to media outlets, managers position not on the agenda etc. nothing on the record.

Is Andy suggesting that the club are leaking Rodgers position is safe to gauge opinion? If so FSG are proper muppets man. If you don't have faith sack him it's as simple as that.
When did this fella become respected? Ten years ago on YNWA he was just a fan who tried his hardest to get in a photo with a player. Amazing where you can get to when you try hard

It's funny you should say that because it was the Burnley game on Boxing Day where I gave up with Rodgers (even though we won!) and then things started picking up a bit. He'd lost me at that point though. I did think that maybe a corner had been turned, but my instincts were correct. I'm normally optimistic about these things, but I'm struggling to find many positives to draw from this season.

A half decent run in the middle of a season, when the pressure wasn't as high as at the start (pressured situation to get good points on the board early) or at the end of a season (semi finals, Champions League run in) does not equate to success - it was almost a stay of execution in hindsight.

At every point in this season, when the games have mattered (and indeed, whether we like to say it or not, last season too), the team, the squad and the tactics have come up short.

2 semi finals, 1 at Wembley
Failed Champions League qualification from a relatively easy group
Treating Real Madrid games like a wide eyed lower league team enjoying their days out against the big boys (****ing embarrassing)
The run in for a Champions League place when we were up against a shaky Manchester United and a City side that fell apart when Yaya Toure was away at the ANC.

Everything has come up short this season. FFS, they've just come off the back of conceding 9 goals against Crystal Palace and ****ing Stoke. Not Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Up to the 14th December it was the worse start to a season for 50 years.

Here is a scary (as in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde) chart

                              Second half of season

                              First 10 games----- WIN 8 DRAW 2 LOSE 0 G/D +12 POINTS 26 PPG 2.60
                              Second 9 games --- WIN 2 DRAW 2 LOSE 5 G/D -09 POINTS 08 PPG 0.89

The best thing that happened that day was Brad Jones getting injured, and Mignolet picking himself up and sticking it to Rodgers for throwing him under the bus. It was an horrendous display of football, but it luckily added to a unbeaten run that was built up by the fortunate way that fixtures fell.
