If Luis Enrique leaves Barcelona, he might fancy a crack at them (Klopp).

But I'm not FSG and I don't think Rodgers can turn it around, and I'm hoping they see that. Because whilst I'd admire them for sticking to their guns if they think he's right, I'd be livid if they kept him and he continued to fail.
This is the big issue regarding the whole situation. The way I see it, Rodgers costs very little money for a premiership manger and I feel FSG would be reluctant to employ an established manager with a good pedigree, someone like Klopp for instance would cost them a lot more than Brendens salary. It's for this single reason I see Rodgers given more time, but with a director of football put in place.

I really like BR as a coach but he is not the right fit for Liverpool.. This club needs experienced hands, someone that has achieved something in their career and not just the potential to achieve and not just on the home front. Unfortunately I don't think our current custodians see it that way.

They have the opportunity to show their desire for taking this club forward, with the managerial talent that will be available this summer - will they bite, IMO I doubt it.. Brenden is their yes man and like I said he'll probably have to work with a DOF next season and it is then he'll be judged by the powers that be.. Problem with that is we'll still be focused on potential and not experience; and with out leadership on or off the pitch we will slip further down and further away from those above us.

IMO if the club stick with BR, like I feel they will, then be ready for more days like we have witnessed recently in the up and coming season ... IMO we need to change and we'll never have a better chance to progress as a club..But all said and done are FSG willing to invest in that change? I really hope so, but have a strong feeling they will not..

Not sure I buy the Klopp would be more expensive than Rodgers argument. Rodgers signed a new contract last summer with a bumper pay rise.

Yep, and even if he did cost 50% more, that's still only a few million including the back room staff which is peanuts in the grand scheme of things.

Some of the potential that Rodgers has been instructed to bring in may come good next year, be harsh if they get another opportunity but the guy who gives a **** doesn't.
Hold on I thought we were a top 5 club with a top 5 budget,or does this change depending on our current league position?

Move those goalposts as and when you see fit.

Well yes, seeing as it was the cornerstone of the argument to keep Rodgers.

4th, 5th, 6th, 10th - who cares? The football we play is ****ing gash. Throw in our utter capitulation over the last few months and the blame lies at the managers door, the squad isn't 'that' bad.

We played our umpteenth new formation yesterday and it was even worse than the majority of the others - Rodgers is looking utterly clueless. I mean, It was him that put team out yesterday and coached them? - they all just looked confused as to their individual purpose within the team. We have no direction and I can't offer any mitigation for that. Even with the exact same squad I expect a good coach to get more out of the team.

Getting turned over by a top class side is one thing, getting rolled by Stoke, Villa, Palace et al is another. Think of next season, teams all over the country will smell blood when they play us, a new manager reinvigorates and brings new ideas.

The games up Brendan, thanks for your efforts - but it's time to move on.

if we aren't careful, we will be having the same argument in about 5 years. We are a top 10 club with a top 10 budget so we are where we are.....

The questions that FSG need to ask themselves are ones like:

                                1. Is Brendan Rodgers the man to get improvements out of young talent like Coutinho, Ibe, Henderson, Moreno, Markovic, Origi, Emre Can, Flanagan.......and younger lads like Rossiter, Ojo, Wilson, Brannagan??? I would say that the answer to that question is actually YES. He has shown very good use of young players and introduces them to the first team at the right times and the right way.

                                2. Is Brendan Rodgers the right man to spend more of our money? Definately NO. If lfc was a man city style club where money is no object, and Brendan had 100% certainty of his position so he could be totally honest, then Brendan would probably say that Lovren, Lallana, Lambert, Balotelli, Markovic, Borini, Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique, Brad Jones and Kolo Toure should all be binned and replaced. The fact that the first 6 of those players cost LFC close to £100m and are now probably worth a total of about 35 - 40m if we are lucky, means that the current structure cannot be trusted with transfer funds whatsoever. You could also add Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto to that list as well. People will say "no thats the transfer committee" but for me Brendan is a part of that, and as manager, he would be a big part of it. Brendan pushed back on the DoF structure when he joined the club. He wanted more responsibility so for me he has to also be more accountable. I think it was Danny Murphy on MOTD last night that said about Skrtel "he is still their best defender.......all the money they spent and he is still their best defender" That is a good point and actually says it all.....

                                3. Is Brendan tactically astute? I don't think so, NO. FSG will have football people advising them. Maybe it is Kenny. But whoever it is, they will surely tell them that defensively, Brendan isn't top club material. I dont think that Brendan can set up a team to defend properly. People will point to our 7 away clean sheets in a row when Brendan changed to a 3 man defense but when that formation was found out, then Brendan had nothing about him - he did nothing to change it again. When Glen Johnson came back from injury, that was the chance to play Emre Can in a midfield position, but it didn't happen. So now we don't actually know if Emre Can is suitable to play midfield next season or not - when we will lose Gerrard and possibly Lucas, we don't know if the up and coming young player is good enough to fill one of their boots or not. So if in 12 months time, regardless of who is the manager, and we all decide that Emre Can isn't good enough for LFC because he has had a poor season, then that is Brendan's fault imo.

However, the most worst tactical decision of Brendan this season has been in my opinion his use of Gerrard. Stevie Wonder could see that his pace had taken a 15% kick in the nuts at the start of the season. Players like Shelvey and Alex Song were able to just run past Gerrard at ease. It exposed LFCs defense in a big way. When Gerrard picked up an injury, that is when Liverpools defense picked up.......it coincided with a change in formation, but in reality it was obvious to see that the absence of Gerrard helped the team from a defensive point of view. What was really unforgivable though was that Brendan put him back in the team as a defensive midfielder WHILE the team were ****e at scoring goals. There we had a club legend playing center mid while we had terrible form up front. Gerrard should have been used as a striker for the whole of the second half of the season. It was summed up by his finish against Stoke yesterday. Gerrard would have been better for Sterling up front as well......and even Mario / Lambert. But he would have ended up having maybe 3 to 5 more shots on goal each game and maybe 8 to 10 more goals for the season. Lampard did well for Man City this season and gerrard is a better player than Lampard (although you wouldnt have thought so the way Brendan used Gerrard this season).

To sum it up though, Brendan has bought badly, was tactically poor (especially in the CL) and couldnt really motivate his squad...... time to say goodbye.
