So he had striker options. And he's just not used them. If I was FSG that would be one of my first questions and his answer would determine if he is sacked or not. And prob the only answer that would save him if he can justifiably say he was against those signings.

Personally I think they are all ****e....however I do agree. A team needs a striker or two on the pitch and personally I feel he should as a manager of a top side been able to get something out of them

Imo, had we changed the system slightly and then say gone ten games on the bounce with ballotelli and borini up top and coutinho behind them....then I reckon we might have got something going

To not start any strikers in so many games this season is inexcusable unless they were all totally injured.

I'd agree with that apart from: Balotelli just didn't seem to work, Lambert was too slow and the rest are ****.

I definitely agree with your last point about persevering with a set up, particularly defensively.

yup, as I say I don't rate borini at all, but one thing for certain he does run, and if you can get him motivated and running his heart out, then his running would make up for ballotellis non running, you then hope something clicks in ballotelli, and he uses some of his ability to compensate for borinis lack of ability, between them, and who knows the fact they are both young italian strikers, something might have clicked....especially if we set up and clearly say. Right lads Sturridge is ****ed so you two have 10 games to get going and I've got lamber waiting in the wings

Surely that would yield something positive....better than play 2 defenders and 8 midfielders every week

You should send that to FSG as a notice that you intend to apply 'should' there be any upcoming vacancies within the organisation

as limited as Borini is he does work hard and his movement is pretty good.

well exactly and this goes to my other point....he's clearly decided he does not want to pick any of the strikers available....for whatever the reason, to the point where it looks almost like he is trying to make a statement by not playing them imo......which if I was FSG I would want to know answers......imo the only thing that would save home behind close doors is if he can say, I was dead against all those players but we got them anyway and they were **** for whatever reason.....

But whatever way we look at it.....we had spent what around £40m on aspas/ballotelli/lambert and borini and not one of them has offered or given us anything.....so for that alone someone should be sacked, for either signing them in the first place, or for not getting anything out of them.....

****ing hell, rafa had Ngog once as the only available back up to Torres...and Ngog despite how ****e he was still offered a little and we got something out of him at times.

I don't rate borini in the slightest. But I'd say I'm convinced that had he started 30 games for us this season, he'd prob got a few goals and who knows just having a striker making striking runs might have helped the rest of the side.....and borini was clearly a Rodgers signing......and he won't even pick him

Brendan Rodgers offered an apology to Liverpool supporters following their 6-1 defeat at Stoke City on the final day of the 2014-15 season.

The Reds found themselves five goals down at half-time following strikes from Mame Diouf (2), Jonathan Walters, Charlie Adam and Steven Nzonzi.

Steven Gerrard pulled one back for the visitors after the break, but Peter Crouch headed in a late sixth for Stoke.

Afterwards, Rodgers told reporters: "To start with, it's an apology. I think everybody, all the supporters connected with Liverpool, will - like us all - be embarrassed by that and they deserve an apology.

"In the first half, we were too easily beaten. They scored a couple of wonder goals, but we have to be much better than that, like we showed in the second half. After the first half, the game was dead.

"We should have been much better in certain defensive moments in the game. We were too easily beaten and not competitive enough in certain areas. On the field, you've got to show aggression and desire to stop people running past you and beating you in a one-v-one duel. That's the bottom line of it. It was bitterly disappointing."

Rodgers acknowledged fans' frustration and disappointment at the defeat, and said: "They have every right to be [angry]. These supporters have been brilliant for us, particularly away from home with the support we've had. We can have no complaints - any of us. The supporters were angry at half-time and rightly so because that was awful, first half. Absolutely awful.

"This season has been a tough season, and in particular towards the end. In this period now, we've come up short. We haven't won enough games in this last couple of months of the season, so they've every right to be angry and frustrated. I take full responsibility for that as the manager.

"Our job is to now go away and reflect on this season. There's an awful lot of work to do and the job is to now go and fix that, and make sure we come back with a motivation greater than ever to push on next season. We've finished the season in sixth, which is where we deserve to finish. We have to now start, today, on the climb to get back up again."

With 2014-15 now over, Rodgers admitted he plans to address the areas that require improvement throughout the summer but also pledged that such work begins for him right now.

"There are a number of key elements of the performance today that didn't surprise me, if I'm being honest," he continued.

"There are areas that we'll address in the summer that will hopefully help us be much more competitive more consistently and be up there from the beginning of the season. We as a club will work very, very hard to make that happen."

Yes there will Brendan, starting with your sacking.

Rodgers did fantastically well last season, but you can't go from 2nd to 6th in the way we did. I know it's short termism, but you can't forget the way football is now and just ignore things. I feel, for him. But next season if we get off to a bad start, it'd be hell.

I was up to now only wanting a change if we could get a top manager in, but even if they aren't available now, we have to change as too much has gone wrong and he's lost the fans. And the players.

Too many question marks, I just can't get my head around how it's all gone wrong. Something has definitely happened behind the scenes after that United defeat. Heard stories of players having it out with him and I can only believe those stories I thought fake, are in fact true.

Because defeats like this do not normally happen. I almost wish Rodgers had given them a smack at HT because it's a disgrace that they downed tools when wearing an LFC shirt, in Gerrard's final game no less. Grr.......

Used to make me laugh when clubs get new managers in and players suddenly start performing. We've become that club - well, I hope I guess! Last season and two semi finals show Rodgers isn't a poor manager, with more backing from the players he'd still be in a job next season.

....... But, it's his job to get the best out of a group of players, and when you can't do that you can't be the manager. Good bye. But thanks for one of the most enjoyable seasons in my time supporting the club.
                        Forwards.......

If that's his game plan then why the holy **** in 3 years has he not bought one solitary midfielder that can tackle?
