Were debating Rodgers achievements v other managers in the league. I'm just curious to know whether people think the opposition teams today are better / the same or worse than when Benitez was in charge.

Think the overall quality of LFC's competitors was definitely better when Rafa was in charge.Originally posted by Marvel View PostWere debating Rodgers achievements v other managers in the league. I think that the better teams have improved and the worse teams have got worse, in that there are now more teams in and around the hunt for CL/european places, but there are more teams involved in the battle at the bottom of the table. I guess though that more teams have something to play for come close to the end of the season, you don't seem to get as many sides as you used to that had a couple of months off from March to MayOriginally posted by Marvel View PostWere debating Rodgers achievements v other managers in the league. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No way for me, in Rafa's first season flipping Everton finished 4th. Last year the points total for CL qualification was the highest ever. The top of our league is more competitive than ever imo though you could certainly argue that the champions were often better under Rafa than they have been in the last few yearsOriginally posted by Marina View PostThink the overall quality of LFC's competitors was definitely better when Rafa was in charge.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Our management is thick as pig ****. I would **** them all off tbh."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

You know guys, maybe it isn't quite as easy as you're all making out with this "thick as pig ****" stuff. I mean if it was wouldn't other clubs find it real easy too? Man City's signings over the last couple of years with the ex-Barca Messi discovery team have been pretty shocking and you can find big issues with the others' recent policies too. They've just had enough money thrown at them that they can absorb it better and retain the few real successes. Lets not pretend like lifting a club with lower revenue and lesser backing to surpass all of them through player acquisitions is actually an easy task.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

It's a long video but some interesting points. LFC stuff from about 18 mins onwards but there is some context and prior discussion regarding the overall league data before thisBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

All of which is true, but there's been some pretty glaring mistakes made that half the forum could see I'm advance. Downing, Carroll, Adam - or your personal chum Balotelli. All of these were obviously mistakes & you're looking at the best part of £80m there.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostYou know guys, maybe it isn't quite as easy as you're all making out with this "thick as pig ****" stuff.
