Did he comment on our abject performance in the Champions League this season?

    That was hardly 'par'

Fair points all round- especially coupled with the point from earlier in the week of "this is what a season without Suarez and Sturridge looks like"

Not that we should ever settle for this, but it wasn't that long ago that Ferguson was still managing in the PL, Utd were overhauling our league wins at the rate of knots, G&H were in charge of us and we were attracting ****e managers.

A little perspective always helps me through. And the season's not even over yet. Hope. Never had hope before either.

If we finish 5th he'd probably be right. We could still easily finish below that.

He would want to be careful with some of his quotes from now on. He could start to lose credibility very soon if he doesn't watch himself....

He is the guy that said about spurs last year "if you spend 100m then you'd want to be winning the league"

              In reality there is no escaping from the Rafa-style "facts";

              1. Balotelli has been a waste of £16m
              2. Lovren has been a waste of £20m
              3. Lallana has been a waste of £25m
              4. Lambert has been a waste of £4.5m
              5. There are big question marks over Moreno......there looks to be a player in there but defensively he is a bag of ****e
              6. Ditto Markovic.......but he cost another £20m
              7. Ditto Emre Can....there is big hope for him but there is no ****in way he was bought as a defender.....

One of the definitions of "par" is "average"

Hes about right to be fair, we are bang average

I don't think finishing 5th is par considering where we finished last year, the money we had to spend, and the quality of the teams around us.

I tend to agree, I expected a higher finish

I thought we would get 4th, I do think Brendan has the odd excuse for not finishing 4th (Sturridge injury for one) but there are a lot of other reasons why we didnt finish 4th that could be laid at his doorstep and or the committees

I think that is a weak excuse. They knew Sturridge's injury record and should have bought better striking options.

That's it in one for me.
We knew we were losing one of the best strikers in the world but didn't have a replacement lined up.

We had a winter window to buy a striker too and we were still in Europe. ****ed it right up.

I like Rodgers but he does like the sound of his own voice... that's all good when you're winning. He just keep schtum until the season is over. A strong finish could see us keeping him & a disastrous one could see us get rid.

He can say a par score all he wants but champs league was the aim and the expectation.... we bought badly and we have been tactically naive too many times this season. Last summer should have been the perfect window for us but for whatever reason it's turned out to be a shocker. Disastrous first 3 months of the season, Out of Champs League with a whimper, out of Europa League with a whimper, Bottled the 3 crucial big games over the last few weeks including an embarrassing semi final.

There's been some bright spots this season with Can's first half of the season albeit it out of position, Coutinho & our great run we went on but whatever way you look at it.. it's been bitterly disappointing as a whole.

Not in the sack Rodgers brigade just yet but certainly not happy at all, we have been unlucky with injuries but if we had of bought better players that wouldn't have been such an issue...only ourselves to blame there. Rather wait until the end of the season and see how we finish the campaign before I say whether i think he should be gone but I can see why some want him out.

There's no doubting his confidence in himself. Since when were semi finals considered an achievement?

Since the FA started having the semis at Wembley
