The club is a mess, hard to believe a manager in demand like Klopp would choose us.

Klopp's interest in the job could help determine their decision but why would him having a cup final have any bearing on it? As for timing, they wouldn't be naming any successor immediately if they do sack Rodgers anyway.Originally posted by Gazzla View PostI wonder if Klopp having a cup final next weekend will have an influence on their decision or the timing of it?.

Some good German journos who know him well believe he'd be right up for it.Originally posted by danperkins View PostThe club is a mess, hard to believe a manager in demand like Klopp would choose us.
Where else is he going to go? He doesn't have that many options. I feel sure he'd see us as a good fit for him. He'd ****ing love it.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

This.

The biggest problem with the whole season has been the idea that the "system"/ formation transcends the players. The team was completely wrong for this system and he had no answers. Beyond frustrating to see this over and over and over and over and not have it addressed."Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr

FSG are business men, they must realise that if they don't change something then their investment is going to go down the pan. They have a chance of getting one of the best managers in Europe, if they want success they have to change there is no other option we're a mess, and we're a mess after spending close to £120m in the summerOriginally posted by marcus50bucks View PostI think we'll have put out the feelers already to find out whether he'd be interested. Seriously though why would a strong personality like Klopp come here if fsg intend to stick with their current structure?

Why doesn't he have many options? Man City will probably replace Peligrini this summer, would he see them as a more attractive proposition? I'd like to think that he would see the challenge of returning us to our former glory as something more rewarding than taking over a club that can spend ****loads of money.

Seems to be an open secret that City are holding out for Pep.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWhy doesn't he have many options? Real going for Rafa.
He's said before he needs to speak the language so that leaves Germany - not going to happen - or England.
Chelsea - no
Utd - no
Arsenal - no
City - very unlikely
Leaves us.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

And FSG are known long term admirers of Herr Klopp. Presumably he'd be agreeable to their preferred DoF set up too.
This looks so much like an obvious and timely opportunity for all concerned..

Klopp seems a man of principals and his mind will be firmly on the upcoming weekend cup final, if today's result does have a baring on Rodgers getting the sack I don't see Klopp as someone who will want to start negotiations with another club while he still has commitments with Dortmund. I've got this horrible fear we'll sack Rodgers and end up with Garry Monk or Shaun Dyche. I really hope I'm wrong but I don't have a lot of faith in us getting the football appointments rightOriginally posted by Pepe79 View PostKlopp's interest in the job could help determine their decision but why would him having a cup final have any bearing on it? I'm going to do a Paddy Ashdown - I'll eat my hat if Guardiola goes to City. Is Rafa really going to Real Madrid? I suppose that would be his dream move. I'm too busy at the moment to have my finger on the pulse where general football matters are concerned, but I haven't heard the Rafa to Real or the Guardiola to City rumours.
Arsenal might move Wenger upstairs this summer, they'd be stupid not to really. I'd like us to be ambitious and bring in a quality manager and I think Klopp would be a great personality here, he'd connect with the fans like Benitez did.

See what you mean. I think that as Rodgers is FSG's man, there'll be some reluctance to replace him unless it's for someone with a bit of pedigree. Hopefully anyway.Originally posted by Gazzla View PostKlopp seems a man of principals and his mind will be firmly on the upcoming weekend cup final, if today's result does have a baring on Rodgers getting the sack I don't see Klopp as someone who will want to start negotiations with another club while he still has commitments with Dortmund. Unless the press have got it spectacularly wrong, Benitez is a cert for Real. Wenger's going nowhere. Why would he move upstairs?
City's ex-Barca men, Txiki and Soriano, are bound to want Pep and I reckon they're holding out for him next summer.
Anyway Brendan hasn't gone yet but I'll be staggered now if he survives. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
