I'd be astonished if FSG allowed this mess to continue.

Wenger is quite rightly a legendary figure at Arsenal, but he's holding them back. They need a fresh approach whilst retaining some dignity and respect for Wenger. If they're going to seriously compete for league titles then they need to "promote" Wenger and bring in a better coach.

If FSG kept Rodgers on they would lose a lot of the support IMO. The result yesterday seems to be the deal breaker.

Everyone is desperate to sack the manager. No anger at the players or owners? Changing managers without being prepared to pay top wages is pointless. We are a top 6 club operating on a top 6 budget. That's the reality. Some of the potential that Rodgers has been instructed to bring in may come good next year, be harsh if they get another opportunity but the guy who gives a **** doesn't.

If I was FSG and thought Rodgers could turn it around, I'd keep him. Because if Rodgers got Liverpool winning again next season, all this mess would soon be forgotten. They could easily decide to ride the wave and see it out.

But I'm not FSG and I don't think Rodgers can turn it around, and I'm hoping they see that. Because whilst I'd admire them for sticking to their guns if they think he's right, I'd be livid if they kept him and he continued to fail.

Because of the unique set of circumstances in terms of not a lot of vacancies at other big clubs, I think we have a very good shot at getting Klopp this summer.

As Shaggy pointed out, Real appear to have locked in Rafa. City appear to be infatuated with Guardiola.

The only threat I see is there are rumors Luis Enrique will walk after the Champions League final due to issues with Messi. I know Klopp has said he would prefer to work in England due to language issues but I think the pull of Barcelona might be too much.

The result against Stoke (FFS) was dreadful, but that won't be the reason for Rodgers getting sacked. We've won three times in the PL from the last ten games. 12 losses during the season! That isn't acceptable. We're not making any progress whatsoever and apart from Couthinho and Sturridge the players we have are not good enough.

Managers job to motivate and organise his staff. You'd be sacked in any other line of work for that sort of result. By now he should have his own players who conform to his ideals.

This was not a case like the Clough and Leeds one from the 70's. Revie's players refusing to play for Clough and getting him the sack. These are his players. They should be running through brick walls for him. They're not.

Yet we finished 6th with that bad a team. Best hope we give the new guy 350m to spend eh?

True. But a good few of our players should be given a servere beating for their lack of effort and pride. Even if we had no manager I'd expect better. Some are a disgrace.

My one worry but hope at the same time surrounds the new manager effect.

If Rodgers goes, all the players will want to stick around and impress. Maybe not Raheem of course, but I'm talking the ones we don't particularly want like Fabio Borini.

We will struggle to bin off the chaff to raise funds.

I don't think we need to spend ****loads of money, just spend it more wisely. Have a system first and foremost and recruit players accordingly. We seem to have the wrong approach. Sort our defence out - that's blindingly obvious. Then buy some strikers, not having a striker this season has cost us dearly. We haven't scored enough and we've been too poor defensively. For all Rodgers philosophical nonsense, football isn't that complicated really.

That's the problem if we don't act now and we kept Rodgers and it all goes tots up again come October we will struggle to get a decent replacement in. We need to act now that there are top managers available.

I dont think the squad is as bad as the performances are showing. If the new manager knows how to organize the defense and make a couple of smart striking purchases, we could do a lot better.

I would think it would be more expensive to stick with Rodgers because there is no way he is fixing the current problem unless we spend a lot of money. If the players and not Rodgers are the main issue then for starters we need to buy an entirely new defense and a goalkeeper.

Oh I agree. Should never capitulate like they have done. But they did it under Hodgson and they've done it again. At least Roy had an excuse, he hardly had any of his own players in. He had about five quid to spend under G+H. He was useless Roy and I was delighted he left. Rodgers is a better coach in my eyes, but he's done just as badly this year.
