Calm down lads, he did ask not to be judged until after 3 years FFS !!

What ? It has been 3 years ? But surely we would have a solid team, formation, tactical approach, strong development etc etc

Apparently the press association have said he is staying. Not seen the article myself but if that's the case then Rodgers is definitely staying unless they have purposely been briefed bollocks by the club.

It's only 1pm in Boston on Monday, the season finished less than 24 hours ago. I very much doubt much has happened, I'd imagine decisions can still be made discussions will be had, things may still change. Or they may stay the same. The media know nothing.

If he isn't sacked he certainly has the luck of the Irish. I think his position is untenable.. If the players aren't playing for you, the fans are turning on you and you're falling short of all your goals... He'll be a lucky man to survive that in modern footballing times.

If this season isn't enough to sack him then I think this club is done. If FSG show a lack of ambition then there will be a lack of interest from the stands. Maybe that will ram home the message when people refuse to pay 55 quid per ticket.

After 3 years we should feel like we've progressed, but we seem to have a lot of players who are a bad fit for the roles they're expected to perform. We've gone backwards. We seem to be totally disorganised, there's no excuse for that after three years - this is Brendan's team now. It needs a radical overhaul, again.

The big problem if he stays is what happens next year after a couple of bad results? It'll be like Hodgson all over again, he's lost the support and when that happens something monumental has to happen to change peoples perception and I can't see that happening.

I don't care what is written just now, and I'll be very surprised if he is still manager next season.

Klopp wise, I doubt any discussions can happen for a week anyway.

People will continue to pay for tickets. Football managers come and go, supporters will always support their team. The transient support might diminish which could hit shirt sales etc.

As I said yesterday, whatever the clubs intention, now is not the time to brief, hint and leak. Be honest. Show some decency and respect.

If the intention is to 'test the water' of fan opinion with a non committal and easily dismissed 'leak'. Then we really are in trouble.

@Andrew_Heaton I've missed something here - what's the purported leak?

@lovefutebol 'Briefings' to media outlets, managers position not on the agenda etc. nothing on the record.

Is Andy suggesting that the club are leaking Rodgers position is safe to gauge opinion? If so FSG are proper muppets man. If you don't have faith sack him it's as simple as that.

I don't think they really need to 'leak' that to gauge fan opinion after yesterday.

Of course they will but the core support which includes everyone on this board IMO still demand that we have a team that atleasts puts the effort in. If this is not the case then the crowd will turn on the manager and team on the pitch.

Not sure if serious, as that's like saying he did well in the marathon for 8 miles, it was the other 18 miles that let him down.

They like an oul brief. This goes on all the time with our transfer negotiations and its always blamed on the player/agent but I'm sure the club is at it too.
