If Klopp is interested and does want a break from football then we could bring someone in on a short-term basis. Whatever happens we can't perform much worse than we have this season, maybe an ex-player like Carragher or Phil Thompson could step in for a short while?

Then we have another wasted transfer window and another season of mid table mediocrity and transition. Bite the bullet and give a top class manager with pedigree the summer to try and sort this mess outOriginally posted by Gibbo View PostGive Rodgers a couple of months if he ****s it Klopp at christmas.
Sounds like the plan to me.Kurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

I don't think Rodgers is a 'yes man'. He initially turned FSG down when they talked of a number of managers being in an interview process. He then pretty much changed their mind in relation to the need for a Director of Football.
Just because FSG think they've made the right decision and believe there are other more mitigating factors doesn't mean Rodgers is sat in the background nodding his head all day.

I can think of worse things this season. Rodgers struggling in his first Champions League campaign is not one of them.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostThe worst thing about this season was our pathetic efforts in the CL. Finishing sixth is disappointing, but the CL performances were abysmal. We want to get into the top four so that we can compete against other European elite teams and then we show no desire to progress in the competition. That was embarrassing, we're Liverpool FC five times winners and we couldn't even get through the group stages. In a way I'm glad we didn't get into the top four this season, because going through that experience with Rodgers again would have been painful.
The six month sabbatical announced by Klopp is certainly an odd time frame in football terms.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostGive Rodgers a couple of months if he ****s it Klopp at christmas.

FFS, it's a huge mistake to keep him on, I can't even muster the emotions to be livid or angry, just feel like chucking it in.Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostApparently the club have briefed a number of media outlets to say Rodgers is safe. Interesting to see what the likes of Barrett and Bascombe say tonight.

It's not a huge mistake. If there is not the right calibre of manager available, why change for change sake? With the right summer and a firm belief in his system of choice, Rodgers could very much turn it around next season.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostFFS, it's a huge mistake to keep him on, I can't even muster the emotions to be livid or angry, just feel like chucking it in.
There's always hope.
