Houllier lost the plot a little after his heart attack so it's hard really to blame him for going ****. And woulda been hella harsh for us to sack him earlier.

    Rafa was replaced by Hodgson.

It's a tough one because of the managers that appear to be available this summer but would any of them want to come to Liverpool? Would any of them suit our culture and game plan? Would they improve our players or convince higher profile ones to come?

I think we need to think hard before deciding on what to do with Rodgers. He has something of a gameplan but I think he bought ok last season. This time, he needs to go for gold and go out with a bang or cover himself in glory.

None of this insipid indecision and listless performance.

What successful signings did he make last season? Sakho? That's it. And he doesn't even like playing him.

I don't see any game plan, I just see someone muddling through.

Although I want Rodgers to stay I fear for him next season because he's going to be under immense pressure from the off. He might not even see out next season if we have the same first half of the season like this one.

I think the way in which things ended last season ****ed the club up royally.

Brendan started to believe his own hype. Inept transfer window followed. Instead of cementing our position we've regressed.

Gerrard mentally as well as physically shot this season.

Suarez up and left. The one world class player in the team. Raised the performance of everyone around him and almost single handily dragged us to a league title. Irreplaceable.

The fans. From a personal perspective I've still not really got over losing the title in the fashion in which we lost the title. I dare say there's a lot in a similar position.

It's clear that money needs to be spent on this squad and i think the board would be mad to give Rodgers another 100m + this summer

If Rodgers does stay then they should give him every last penny we have to bring in better players. Otherwise we are wasting our time and treading water. Back him or sack him, no half measures.

I wouldn't trust any of those involved to buy the right players or put together a successful league season. It's tainted. He's had long enough. Muddling through indeed.

I don't think you can give the current set up a big chunk of dough. And that is the problem this summer.

There just a massive sense of torpor and lethargy over the club at the moment. Rogers brought us to the gates of heaven last year - or perhaps Suarez did - but since he blundered tactically against Chelsea by playing into Mourinho's hands and attacking instead of playing out the stalemate that would have kept us in the driving seat, things have just been unraveling. The closest we are to heaven now is only in the sense of being actually dead.
FSG have now seen two managerial regimes take their cash and largely squander it and if they're not thinking of giving Rogers the elbow instead of handing him another wedge to spunk on non-descript squad filler, then I'd question their judgement as much as the manager's. We are three years and a few hundred million into this project and there are so many holes to fill, so many wrongs to right and such a sense of rock bottom that we might as well be at day one under a new manager anyway. It's not to everyone's taste, I know, but the solid, non-spoofer tactician Rafa came mighty close despite various obstacles, financial and otherwise, and I'd love to see him come back with the full club behind him and let him take us to the promised land.

I'm against chopping and changing managers for the sake of it, like happens at other clubs. But I'm also against not chopping and changing a manager for the sake of not being seen to be chopping and changing the manager.

together with your Defensive Coach quote prior to that. The guy is a ****ing clown and has to go surely.

1 point from 4 games with Hull and Palace. 1 point.

Everything points towards him being given another season and I would be very disappointed if that happens.

needs to get 3rd place as a minimum, don't expect that to happen not when the teams above us will out spend us and add real quality to their starting X1

Rogers will probably will get next season but yeah I'm finding hard to find any positives about him after this season. So many mistakes over the season with tactics, team selection & obviously signings. People have mentioned he's learning on the job, we can't afford that unfortunately. He's not a rookie manager but he is a rookie manager in terms of managing a big team and meeting the pressure and expectation.

Some of the things he's said throughout the season too, have really come back to haunt him & make him look amateur. Just have no confidence in our transfer dealings & his team selections. We need a serious overhaul, it's not a case where 2 or 3 players will fix us as IMO there is something fundamentally lacking in our current squad. No leaders, no fight or bottle. Do i trust Rodgers and this committee to buy the right players? Not really no.

I do FSG will stick with him but if they decided to pull the plug, I don't think anyone could argue their reasons.
