It seems to me that because Rafa and Kenny (probably even more so Kenny) were treated like utter **** by the club (as they were), there's a sizeable minority who thinks that Rodgers is getting a free pass by not being **** on like they were. And because Rodgers talks a lot and is open to the media, he doesn't get the stick from them that Kenny and Rafa did. That's great for the club and the team, because they don't have to deal with all that ****, but it just gives more ammo for that sizeable minority of our fans to attack him with.
I thought he'd be gone after the Stoke game, but I could see the argument for giving him an extra year too. We'll all find out soon enough who's right - either he'll turn it around with the help of some decent signings and we'll be competitive again, or he'll be sacked by Christmas. Surely everyone's hoping for the former, however little faith they have in it happening?
