Well Cole scored one and created one mid week and got an ovation from much of the crowd when he came off. I don't see how bringing him on as a sub was an extremely poor decision tbh.

We're all Roman Abramovichs nowadays. Only difference is Roman actually has silly money to do it for real.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWell Cole scored one and created one mid week and got an ovation from much of the crowd when he came off. Sad state of affairs really, I remember Liverpool fans before the internet was invented and honestly it was never this bad.One tit for another.

Not his biggest fan but Cole did well in that game and given limited attacking options available to us certainly had to be close to the top of the list in such situations."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Thats cool bro, because I am not here to post to make everyone happy and tow the line. I say it as I see it, and Downing is no LB and Enrique no LW.Originally posted by BigChief View PostTee, don't mean to offend, and everyone's opinions are just as valid. But I do think that you don't have a clue about football sometimes.
Please explain to me why you think otherwise, I could clearly do with some of your extensive knowledge and wisdom.

The angle they showed during the game made it look like he was just off, but a better angle has emerged and he is clearly (only just) onside. But you're either on or you're off, and he was on. 2 perfectly good goals ruled out have cost us 4 points so far.Originally posted by Tee View PostLooked like he was just off IMO. We simply are not good enough and BR takes much of the blame for that shambles of a team, I mean Downing at LB and Enrique at LW? WTF?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't have any wisdom I'm afraid.

I only saw the initial replay in which he looked off.

I know exactly why enrique was being played left wing and why he may continue to do so.
We play from the back and pass the ball around the defensive third using the keeper, both central defenders and joe allen. However this invites pressure onto us and the.opposition are having some success pressing us higher up the pitch.
The way around this is a ball onto the 55 yard line which bypasses three or four.pressers in one pass. But as we played with both suso and sterling in those positions those options are out of the question because they arent going to win those headers or bring it down.
Whereas enrique will. He will also compete much better for second balls as well as having a very good chance of winning those headers. Its the same diagonal ball rafa used onto kuyts head against cole fairly regularly.
Hes not a winger but hes there to do a job which to be fair to him hes capable of doing well. Hes also much better in the final third than his own. unfortunately downing wont win those headers or offer that option so he cant play there.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Guillem Balague's interview on The Anfield Wrap was very simple, yet his words were so effective for our current situation.
He made the point about the ethos brought in by Rafa Benitez, the seed planted by Pep Segura and Borrell and said about how he met Brendan Rodgers when he was reserve team manager at Chelsea and helped introduce him to Vicente Del Bosque. He was already a nut on Spanish football by then. He then made his point when he asked Andy Heaton (the interviewer) how long Rodgers had been here.
I know we don't like to use the word 'philosophy', 'project' and all this other management terminology, but let's face it, we are a side putting our hopes and dreams on teenagers, inexperienced signings and expensive flops. We have a manager with a plan willing to take that on with a board who know as much about football as I do about quantum mechanics. He has defined his style of play to us and has made it abundantly clear who he doesn't want.
Damn it, just read his interviews this morning. Once again (he did this at Swansea), he talked about a large outgoing and incoming of players to make his own squad. This relates to his idea about getting to his destination as quickly as possible, but doing it 'clinically'.
It's so easy to forget the state we're in now. Yes, the amount of chances we're creating (or not) is a bit of a concern, but look at the team. We pin our hopes on Lucas Leiva, yet he's been out for the best part of a year. Nuri Sahin had a bad injury at Real Madrid, yet we expect him to walk in and play like Alonso. We have expensive flops in Henderson, Downing, Cole, Carroll (still on the books), whilst hoping that Suso, Sterling, Wisdom etc transform into mentally strong stars overnight to propel us into 4th.
Yes, Rodgers' interviews are a bit cringeworthy at times (seven and a half role anyone?), but give the man a break. He's no Hodgson. We knew what he meant even if he was trying to be a bit too clever. He's show a strong awareness of our problems and is doing his best tactically, even if some of the decisions don't come off. He may not be a La Liga, European Cup winning manager who'd have eaten kangaroo testicles to manage us, but he is what we have, a coach known for his patient, possession based football with intelligence. Do we have intelligence in the side? Not a chance.
I can only hope for a massive summer of players being booted out, Wisdom, Sterling, Suso with a whole season under their belts, and more technical players with pace and intelligence being brought in. Lucas would've had 6 months of football, Allen and Borini settling into the way of things at Liverpool and hopefully, we can kick on and have a Dortmund/Juventus/Montpellier style season.
So many of us have talked about patience and understanding where we're at. Now it's time to walk the walk.

We have lost 6 games this season in all Comps. I dont know if thats a good or bad thing. But what I can see is that we are drawing far too many. If that changed, and we got a few extra goals here and there, I think we would see a massive improvement in mood and feeling towards Rodgers.*Except Michael, who died.
