That balance, which Rafa was so fond of saying, is key. Probably the hardest thing to get right. We have lost games which we've deserved to win this season and if we had had that bit of defensive solidity, we would have been up there in and around 3rd place.
Game of fine margins.Last edited by Fredo; 03-01-13, 12:34 AM.Are we winning?

For me we are close to the teams in the top six in a lot of ways but have the least balanced/well constructed squad. Hopefully january transfer dealing will go some way to rectifying that.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostThe quality throughout our team is top 6+
We should finish around there imo."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

But we did and we are were we deserve to be. We have to improve and show some consistency. Back to back wins help, next fixtures not so much.Originally posted by Nigey View PostThat balance, which Rafa was so fond of saying, is key. Probably the hardest thing to get right. I worry about our character when we go behind or things not going our way, we're going to have to show some grit and balls against Mancs,Arsenal & City if we want to stand a chance of taking anything our of those extremely difficult fixtures.

Yes of course, we've been too inconsistent. But Rodgers is doing a fine job IMO, a much better job than the results have been showing. Still early days, but if he can balance the squad with the right signings, we'll be alright and maybe even in for a shout at 4th this season. We need to beat teams in the top 6 to earn this right though and there's a slight concern that we haven't beaten any of them this season.Originally posted by danperkins View PostBut we did and we are were we deserve to be. It's not been as doom and gloom as some would make out, especially as we know we are in transition. If you take all league results starting from Sep 25th, only the two mancs and spurs have accumulated more points than us. We have won 8 drawn 5 lost 3 f30 a16. Not that bad considering the squad we have had, the injuries, and the settling in period.
