I know it did for me. And while I want him to do well I'm still finding it difficult to warm to him as a manager.

This doesn't mean that I'm going to attack him everytime he does something wrong, or fail to acknowledge him if he does something right. It just doesn't seem quite right yet.
I feel sorry for him in regards to the Being Liverpool programme as he had no say in it, we had agreed to it before he was appointed, it was something that was thrust upon him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Oh yeah definitely. It's not that I don't think he's the right man to take us forward or anything like that. And I really admire the way he's trying to get us to play better football.

I even agree with G in the fact that he is learning on the job, And I think he's winging a few of these decisions he's making. I think it's his touchy feelyness, It just doesn't reek of authority.

I'm sure it will be alright. And I think he gets some unnecessary stick.

think he said what a lot of people are thinking right now.

its a results business. kenny was sacked because results were crap. that means that we have to deliver on the pitch which we arent.

So by your logic we should sack our managers every year for failing to make 4th, because results weren't good enough.

It's a long term project and talks of replacing the manager at this stage is totally unwarranted.
            Are we winning?

I move to change the term "totally unwarranted" to "total ****tardery".

no, the kenny situation is different. kenny wasn't their first choice, and he spent an awful lot of money. there was no philosophy in place on the field and the club was a disorganized mess. it's not necessarily kenny's fault, but the he wasn't very lucky in a lot of ways.

brendan is someone they have chosen and they will invest time with him. he's had some money to spend, but he's been on a comparatively short leash. this is the long term project. they were just giving kenny a throw on the dice to see if it would work out after what he did taking over from woy.

The best posts are by those who right for absolute ages trying to make themselves sound more intellectual but they could have just said in the first line that they want Rodgers sacked. It's absolute stupidity of the highest order and sums up the lack of patience running through the club and the fans at the moment.

look i said i wouldnt say anything else about replacing rodgers until the end of the season and i wont.

but it was ian ayre who said that kenny was let go because results werent good enough.

I understand its not a quick fix but if we accept mediocrity for too long it will become the norm and we have been cack this year.

But it will be squeaky bum time for BR if we finish outside the top 10 IMO. He needs next season at the very least and if there is no real progress it is fair enough for the owners to review his position.

I don't believe Kenny was sacked solely based on results either. He was showing no long term plan. He regularly played Suarez in a role lone at home when we had nothing to play for in the league and left a 35m striker on the bench and showed no signs of trying to integrate him into the team. If you can't play him in a meaningless game, when are you going to play him? Coates also could have been given some game time but he wasn't either. To be honest, I couldn't see where we were going to go if he was going to be given another season. We were just muddling through. Didn't we win something like 3 games out of our last 19?

Rodgers has reduced the wage bill, brought in some of our promising youngsters and is trying to instil a philosophy through all levels. I don't know what some people expect, but I certainly didn't expect a Top 4 finish this season. But I see a plan and where we are trying to go. We have some good attacking options now.

Yes Allen has been poor of late, but when he started well he covered for 3 midfield positions because the other 2 players were pretty much non-existent. We need to show some patience because if we keep chopping and changing managers then our mid-table status will be confirmed forever.

I'm not fully convinced by FSG. Sturridge is a signing which could have been made in the summer. But frankly at the moment I am glad that they seem to have a lot more knowledge than some of our fans who wanted Rodgers sacked from 5 games in this season!

i'm sure ian ayre is on the phone right now, all "well, we have to fire rodgers because el matador said we can't judge each situation on its own merits. no. no, we fired kenny so we have to fire rodgers even though we're a lot more comfortable with his long term vision (and the fact that he has one that's been meticulously thought out quite recently). **** it, let's get it done."

Do you think 1 season is long enough for a manager then? So who would you replace him with in the Summer? Who is going to come here and work on a limited transfer budget and get is in the Top 4? And if they don't do it in that season we should change again?

One thing that Rodgers has over Kenny is a clear playing style and vision. For that alone I think FSG will keep him around to implement it. We played nice football at times under Kenny. But I could never see where it was going.
