That's because you analyse the game the way 99.9% of people or most media pundits would see it. Call it peer pressure or whatever but it does influence most people. Does not make it particularly right.Originally posted by danperkins View PostBut that is neither here nor there, you said we are close to United & closer than i think. The evidence over the past 2 decades or so and once again this season... would suggest otherwise. No their fault they've had stability and success.
Come on Nige seriously be realistic, we are nowhere near their calibre. I genuinely don't think 99.9% of football fans would even contemplate that comment.
United are more efficient and have a bigger squad than us. Then they have Van Persie who has been the best player in the league for 2 or 3 years. He wins them more games than say Suarez does for us.Are we winning?

Neither does it tell the whole truth.Originally posted by danperkins View PostThe league does not lie
That's not to say I agree with Nigel..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Nigel United have dominated english football for the past 2 decades, peer pressure, influence etc have absolutely nothing got to do with team being a power house in English football. And i don't have to analyse anything to see the facts, they have won the league 12 times in last 2 decades, 5 fa cups, 4 league cups & champs league few times. You don't need professional analytical skills to decipher that's is pretty damn impressive, regardless of who they are.Originally posted by Nigey View PostThat's because you analyse the game the way 99.9% of people or most media pundits would see it. They simply are a much better team than us & were before RVP joined them & before Rooney joined them & before Ronaldo joined them.
I just can't fathom how even the most staunch Liverpool F.C. can argue this. Just my opinion as you have yours, but i'd be shocked if even LFC fans would suggest that we are close to United at the moment.

In fact look at the performances of all Prem sides in the CL. It's piss poor.
Spurs and Everton are improved but they're nowhere near, for example, to what we were in 2009.
Look at all the quality that's left the league - Ronaldo, Alonso, Mascherano, Fabregas etc. All top quality players who've gone to the best two teams in the world. The defending is as bad as I can remember it too. It's still an exciting league, sure, but the standard has dropped big time - hence one of the weakest United sides in years (ask any of their fans and they will all agree they're not up to much, especially by their standards) breaking all sorts of records.
Couldn't have said it better myself."I will make the boys feel your support"

This year it will be the least-**** team that wins, the entire league is getting weaker and weaker and this is best demonstrated by the fact that United will piss the league despite it being THE worst squad Slurgie has had in his entire time there but the simple fact that they have Van Persie. He's single-handedly dragging them to the title.Originally posted by danperkins View PostThe best team wins the league ever year.

The league is definitely weaker no doubts but sure you can only play who is infront of you. Who ever wins the league this year will deserve it.... just as they do every year.Originally posted by Captain Stu View PostThis year it will be the least-**** team that wins, the entire league is getting weaker and weaker and this is best demonstrated by the fact that United will piss the league despite it being THE worst squad Slurgie has had in his entire time there but the simple fact that they have Van Persie. I am not talking about 23 years of United success. I am talking about this year and how far behind in terms of quality we are.
