Ok so would you agree we lack a physical presence in midfield and that is costing us , I agree we were robbed against Everton, and Skrtel did mess up against City. But we still have yet to beat a Top 10 team."All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

Which physical presence would you have started with yesterday?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Against Sunderland and QPR! Not really comparable to playing united is it.Originally posted by souliv View PostHenderson,a midfield of Gerrard , Lucas and Henderson has been working we changed a formation that had worked in previous games.

Ok, so Henderson qualifies as a physical presence now.Originally posted by souliv View PostHenderson,a midfield of Gerrard , Lucas and Henderson has been working we changed a formation that had worked in previous games.
I agree, that midfield has been working reasonably well and with hindsight it might well have been better. Then again it might not have been, and I don't know what the idea behind the change was intended to achieve. And I'd agree Rodgers' job is to get calls like that right more often than not.
But it's not as if we start every game badly and no one gets the right starting selection and tactics every time.
So getting it wrong sometimes does not indicate a bad manager. However being able to make successful adjustments during a game is an essential difference between a good one (e.g. Benitez) and a not-so-good one (e.g. Sven)..

Let's compare the 2 players
Joe Allen has been awful in recent games, easily knocked off the ball , misplaced passes etc
So was it really fair by Rogers to play a player performing so badly and expect him to perform against the league leaders, whereas Henderson is full of confidence and playing well.
Surely you go with the confident player who is performing."All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

I don't think it's about fairness. I imagine he picked Allen because he thought he'd make the best combination for the tactics he'd chosen for the game. I don't know what those tactics were.
You never know, he may even be aware of the benefits of playing someone who has been doing well - albeit against far poorer opposition, as Matt says - but decided the team stood to gain more by going with Allen for this match..

I don't think you can say Henderson is full of confidence and playing well. But his form is better than Allen's that's for sure. Personally i thought Henderson would start as he has more energy and athleticism than Allen.
Who knows what Rogers thought but starting Allen turned out to be a mistake, it happens i suppose. We need better than both Allen & Henderson, especially now that Lucas is struggling to find form and may take awhile for him to get match fitness/sharpness.

Piss off I support the team and the manager, does not mean he is above criticism and we should just have blind faith.Originally posted by -V- View PostJust been reading through this thread and honestly some of you lot are a right bunch of negative ****ing cunts. Get behind the manager and stop talking **** about him all the time. You wouldn't think half of you even supported Liverpool"All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

Criticizing his team selections/signings is one thing but making fun of his every comment and having a go at him for saying positive things is pathetic. Thats things some posters on here are guilty of and should seriously go support ****ing chelsea or some other plastic ****eOriginally posted by souliv View PostPiss off I support the team and the manager, does not mean he is above criticism and we should just have blind faith.

funny to think that the team at the top of the table at the end of the season cant be considered to be the best in the league.
