Results have been cack but our play generally have been far from cack. I'm sure we all have concerns but on the whole we can see what Rodgers is trying to do.Originally posted by el matador View Postlook i said i wouldnt say anything else about replacing rodgers until the end of the season and i wont.
but it was ian ayre who said that kenny was let go because results werent good enough.
I understand its not a quick fix but if we accept mediocrity for too long it will become the norm and we have been cack this year.
You call him an idealist but I'd rather we had more idealists in this world trying to implement their crazy idealists ideas, at least it makes life less boring. And idealists are generally creative types, so I'm even more willing to give Rodgers time.
I like the way we're trying to play and Rodgers is entirely right in that the players need to believe in this way of playing. We didn't have enough belief in the first half yesterday and it showed we are not consistent yet by how well we penned them back in the last 30 minutes after we went 2 goals down.
I'm all up for discussing football issues but panicking at this stage or demanding results at this stage is ludicrous. It hurts for everyone when we lose against United, it's not just you.Are we winning?

I don't think we'll finish outside the top 10 Tee. We'll finish about 8th (ie. give or take a position either way), and for me that will be about right given the state of the squad etc this year. We will need to see a genuine improvement next season, but I don't think that will be a disaster.
Kenny was sacked for presiding over the worst transfer business this club has ever done. If he'd done a KLF and just burnt £50m on a beach somewhere that would have been more stylish and had just as much positive effect on the squad. Add to that the results being poor, the club PR being a disaster and him obviously having no real plan how to turn things around... I love the guy but sacking Kenny when we did was 100% the right thing to do in my opinion. Not giving Rodgers a second season would be 100% the wrong thing to do.Originally posted by el matador View Postkenny was sacked because results were crap.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

I have been critical of Rodgers but I dont want him sacked. We (the owners) should evalute his perfomance in the spring and what he is going to in order to bring us forward.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We can criticise our Manager but still not want him to be sacked. Some people need to see that and not get so wound up in their own quest for superfan status."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I have seen signs this season we are moving in the right direction. We have outplayed some teams and got nothing, some for a lot of the game (Spurs away, Swansea awy), some in spells (yesterday - where I was genuinely surprised how dangerous we looked, admittedly in the last 30 mins). I think we'll push on in the 2nd half and finish 6th. Could do with tightening up at the back though - Leiva getting back to full fitness will help.Substance > Style

Who is being a superfan here? It's just tiresome reading all the short sightedness after a defeat. We need stability and we'll review Rodgers after at least 2 years.Originally posted by Tee View Post

And its just as tiresome reading endless justifications of clear mistakes. And also reading how Joe Allen is the equivalent of Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.Originally posted by Nigey View PostWho is being a superfan here? Jeez Nigey, I still cannot get over that one.

See, I think its fair to review his current progress in the summer. Everyone has job reviews to see if they are on course. I think he has done fine up to now, so I dont think FSG will have any worries. But it is defiantly prudent to review things all the time regardless of time the manager has been here. He should have to justify things.Originally posted by Nigey View PostWho is being a superfan here? It's just tiresome reading all the shortsightedness after a defeat. Oh dear, talk about revisionism here. Where have I consistently said he's better than Iniesta, Busquets etc .... **** off.Originally posted by Tee View PostAnd its just as tiresome reading endless justifications of clear mistakes. Of course, but after every game? Fine discussing our issues in how we've played or what could have been done better but anything else is ludicrous.Originally posted by Alex View PostSee, I think its fair to review his current progress in the summer.
