There is something special brewing at anfield, and I'm loving every second of it.

Rodgers made a mistake last night with those subs. As much as I praised him for keeping it stready and not changing things against Man City and Arsenal, he did wrong here.

Shame really, because it was the only bad point for me last night.

Tactical genius them subs last night. Totally stopped us in our tracks.

The team was playing brilliant and Zenit wasnt getting a sniff. Henderson was all over the park and Downing was running at the defence.... Then he takes them off and we lost all the momentum.

He is a great coach but im worried he hasnt got a clue tactically. Early days still though, its only the first season. We seriously need to improve defensively next season. FSG need to give him some more cash.

We have owners that is learning the game. We have a manager that never been manager at a top club.

I believe we have made progress and want us to keep Rodgers but we have owners that really don't know what progress is on the pitch. Do we play better or worse than last season? What kind of mistakes is Rodgers making?

I doubt that our owners could answer questions like this. That is a problem.

If you look at the results being knocked out of every cup and almost zero chance to challenge for fourth place then Rodgers should be close to being sacked.

If you look at the progress we made on the pitch and how Rodgers want us to play then he should get at least another year.

I don't have a clue what FSG will do but I believe the one deciding if Rodgers stay or not is Ayre.

The question is what will they do if a top class manager want to join us? Rodgers or Ancelotti for example.

Rodgers staying or not probably depends on who is available and want to join us in the summer IMO.

What I see as a must is to get in a top class CEO. Someone that know what progress is and isn't only looking at the results. Someone with connections all over the world.

              What about,
              Carra ****ing up?
              Refs peno decision?
Pepe not making a bigger effort to save the goal?
Ya he made a mistake bringing Shelvey on for Hendo, but to say that was the only bad point of the night is surly obvious segregating BR for disapproval.

                Did they really?

I thought Assaidi played well when he came on and Shelvey got the chance to send us through which he missed. He made attacking subs to try and win the tie. They didn't work. If he didn't change anything and we lost he'd have been slated.

Thought Henderson's levels dipped a bit in the second half and the substitution was the correct one IMO. Shelvey is having a tough time, but the onus was given to him and you can't blame Rodgers for that.

Carra **** up was just that. A mistake a mistake that anyone can make. The refs lack of awarding us a penalty is nothing we can effect. Pepe not making an effort to save the goal is really subjective. He had 2 choices, stay or go. He chose to stay and it was the wrong one. But it was the wrong choice. If he had gone, and gotten chipped or something I guess people would be saying he should have stayed closer to his goal.

Singling out individual mistakes is no good for me, they all happen.

You can't just pick and choose moments in a game.

What about our first goal? 9 times out of ten that hits the wall.

The subs were just not needed at the time they were made, we were in full flow and Zenit were rocking. Shelvey is not good enough to play for Liverpool in my opinion, he's a liability and lazy.

I think Rogers is learning just as much as the players are. Lets hope he is a quick learner.

I agree. We were hammering them, attacking subs when we are already attacking well didn't make much sense. If we had continued to knock on the door but not score then fair enough, take a chance and get more creativity on, but once we had scored the third a more experienced manager would probably have delayed the subs and seen how the next five mins went. I think the excitement got to him a little.

We had almost half an hour to get the final goal needed. Shame.

Thought a win last night would be a defining moment in BR's reign. Alas, it wasn't to be. Maybe it's a good thing and it will have a positive effect too

Well you have to be encouraged by how well the team played. Just one mistake from Carra knocked us out. (If you dont count the cock ups in russia).

But then that is the story of our season, we have beaten ourselves with rookie mistakes and individual errors.
