Possession football is not the issue but inconsistency is.
    Are we winning?

By carrying on doing what we have been doing. How would YOU address those issues?

The problems we have are still there regardless of a 5-0 scoreline.

We were fantastic yesterday and goes to show how much better we are as an attacking force when both Suarez and Sturridge are on the pitch together.

Our defence was hardly tested - and didn't have many dangerous high balls to compete against.

If we can sort out the glaring defensive problems we've had ALL season in the summer with a few quality additions then we should have a real chance of a top 4 finish next season.

Yep a great win against a Swansea B team .. one to remember I guess.

Wouldnt really call Davies, Hernandez, De Guzman, Vorm and Britton B teamers. Any 5-0 win is a great one, regardless of the opponent.

                Yup.

And a first clean sheet in five; just in time for a game where we need to remain solid, but look threatening up front. Granted there were moments from Swansea set-pieces when we looked to fall to pieces (again), but a clean sheet is a clean sheet.

Agree that sorting out the defence is priority in the summer BUT I think that buying another striker is almost as important, the two losses last week demonstrated that without Sturridge we can be blunt in attack. Luis can't do everything by himself.

Let's see how many of them play in the final next week before writing them off as a B team.

I think calling them a b team is massively disrespectful, But then I do think some of them will not have wanted to get injured before next week and not put the same effoft as normal.

The only big exclusions, really, was Michu and Williams.

Some players still had good games anyway, Britton was doing very well in the middle.

its quite straight forward, i would sack them all...

rather than try to plug gaps by playing the kids i would only be wanting to play the youth once they have had a chance to go on loan and come back having grown a little as a player and a person.
it might mean that they dont get their chance as early, but it should also mean that when their chance comes they are more ready. it must crush some of these lads to be playing in the first team one minute, then be back in the reserves for some time. they need competitive, combative games to get them battle ready, without compromising first team results.

this will mean that there might have to be a few interim signings. not youngsters, but beef. guys who may be bought for 2-3m who can help hold the team together without compromising quality. these squaddies will help with the now, and can also help with rotation as and when the youngsters come back to the team.

£3m journymen players are not what we need. We are not West Ham. I'd much rather we go the way we are now, adding quality to the side when we can (Sturridge and Coutinho recently) and building like that.

The things that you are suggesting will make us finish 6th maybe, but we won't get higher with that philisophy IMO.

We are growing slowly, and that can only mean we are going to be stronger for it.

I dont think its that. With me, its not a case of getting depressed when we lose, but not running away with it when we win. Pointing out that it was a weakened Swansea side is a way of tempering the euphoria of the 5-0. Neither extreme of feeling are helpful IMO.

Although boshing a team 5-0 is always nice.
