Agree on today's team selection but we are much, much better with BR in charge. He's been given a mandate to reduce the wage bill and get fourth place in the Prem. So far, he's been excellent.

With all due respect I'm watching the most exciting football in the league week in week out. We get a decent defensive coach in and a few more players and we will be top of the table by a mile. BR deserves another 3 years as he really gets the LFC way IMO

Rodgers has done and is doing a great job. Barring a complete collapse between now and the end of the season I'd say he deserves a new contract but regardless we should wait until the summer. No need for the distraction.

The one thing I reckon he has still failed to suss out entirely is the balance between defence and attack. Our defending is terrifying at times and almost every corner is heart attack stuff. Crack that and we'll go a long way.

I've warmed up to Rodgers because I think he's trying to build the foundation of a top class attacking side, but is currently struggling to shore up our defence because of personnel issues. I'm still worried about him in the transfer market but I think he's steering us in the right direction.

He needs to swallow his pride and abandon it right now. Pretty sure Gerrard doesn't want to play there. I don't get this whole moving him back thing. You need more legs - tracking, covering, pressing - in the deeper role IMO and him being there negates most of his quality. It was apparent when almost as soon as he moved forward he did a couple of great things. His passing is high risk much of the time and it's better to lose the ball nearer their goal than ours. And if he doesn't give it away in those areas, he's causing havoc.

I reckon his days as an absolute fixture in the side every week ought to be being gradually brought to a close, but he should play more often than not and when he does it has to be in an attacking role. Daniel7 made a great point - you don't see Totti playing holding mid.

I agree with the bit in bold, but I think he could have made the change in the first half, it was clear to everyone what was needed, (I'm no fan of 1st half subs but in this case it was necessary), if we had made the change earlier we might not have found ourselves two goals behind.

For me we need to see that Rodgers has learned from his mistakes, and for that we need to set up like we did in the second half today, and abandon the idea of using Gerrard as a DM.
