I'm sure you're taking the piss but Barcelona weren't "the best side in the country by some distance" when he took over. Barca had managed a paltry 67 points the previous season, finishing 3rd and a mile behind Real Madrid. Pep took over and they won the treble. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I couldn't agree more! Sound like playground kids!Originally posted by dom9 View PostThat is so bad it's nearly good.
I often cringe at some of the nicknames that grown men use for other football teams.
Some of our fans are no better.

It was a tongue in cheek comment, but now that you have responded to it I shall dig my heels in and argue against whatever you say

Give any team Messi and you're half way there in fairness! He can only manage his teams so, in truth, he did brilliantly at both Barca and now Bayern. I'd like to see him do it with Leicester.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI'm sure you're taking the piss but Barcelona weren't "the best side in the country by some distance" when he took over. Well, you wonder how many managers would have the foresight to move Messi into a central position. He was an out and out right winger when Pep took over. Never ceases to amazes me how blasé some are about Guardiola.Originally posted by ronanm View PostGive any team Messi and you're half way there in fairness! Of course you did!
He was a red hot right winger and it took Guardiola's appointment for him to become the player he is today.

Not only that but at different times he took on Eto'o, Henry and Ibrahimovic and won.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

Well, what he gained with Messi he lost with Eidur Gudjonsen. You can't deny that.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

Now he's strutted into Bayern - treble winners last season, how do you improve on that? - and appears to have gone and made them better already. He's immense. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
