At the risk of turning this into an ex manager vs current manager debate, I think our brand of football now is not only a joy to watch, it's a joy to play for too for the players. This is probably where Rodger's man management skills, high EQ and ability to communicate and impress upon his football ideas is superior to Rafa's.

That to me is the best thing about him as a manager.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostThe way he adapts is phenomenal. He doesn't have any stubborness in him whatsoever, whether it's about tactics or personnel.
He made some tactical and selection mistakes this year, as you would expect from a young manager he is, but he was able to learn from them very quickly and make necessary adjustments.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Give it up manOriginally posted by Tee View PostI honestly think BR would have turned Shelvey into a monster this season if he was still here. Reckon he might be back one day.

Jonjo is too thick to ever make it as a top player. The talent is there, the braincells most definitely are not.
I said at the time we were right to sell and I maintain that.

I was half joking, but I did post before that I’d liked to have seen Jonjo coached into a holding midfiled role, similar to Lucas, rather than playing him in different positions every week. I thought he had the talent to be an excellent player and wanted him to try and style his game on Xabi.Originally posted by destinydude View PostHe cannot contain himself and he's too reckless to play in that role.
I still think he’s a good player, but unfortunately still hasn’t progressed much since I made those comments originally. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It is true. It could be argued that a certain Steven Gerrard was often unable to contain himself and reckless when he was a youngster in the team (though his sheer class and talent was always apparent - love you so much Stevie

Stevie G has many times the talent of a Shelvey. Jonjo is more Don Hutchinson than he is Stevie G imo.Originally posted by Tee View PostIt is true. I totally don't get the thing about him on here. I was talking to a couple of Swansea fans in a pub a month or so ago and they think he is a liability, no tactical accumen whatsoever. Looks good on motd because he always wants to get involved but half the stuff he does leads to the opposition getting the ball they said, and from what I've seen I completely agree.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
