A lot of people quote similar stats for shots. Both things are correlated for most sides I would guess (and zonal marking presents some evidence here - http://www.zonalmarking.net/2012/05/...ion-and-shots/) but Swansea seemed to have a lot of possession without many shots. We had a decent number of shots but didn't score from many. I think it will be a real challenge to get us to be efficient with possession.

My feelings on this type of statement as articulated by the originator of the modern 4-2-3-1 in Issue 1 of the Blizzard:

Bit harsh that , he has been a coach for twenty odd years and been over to Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla plus a few over in Holland.

i dont mean to be critical, just saying that its a big leap from having an idea of what needs to be done, to getting the team to actually do it to a decent level.
some of these lads pushing through the spanish system have been playing this way for 10-15 years by the time they make the first team.
i really do hope that things work out for us, but it may not be the instant success that some might think.

So you're more bothered about all the other stats in a game over the final ones - the score and the points?

I personally couldn't care less if, at the end of a game, we had 30% total possession of the game, 1 shot on target or 25 shots on target as long as we won the game. Yes you may find links between certain stats but at the end of the day the team that scores the most goals gets the most points, and the team with the most points wins the league. Like I said, I'm probably old school and over simplify this game...
