            Looking good for the future

We just need to show some patience for our manager this time around, and we could have something interesting coming together in the next few years.

              Kids - the ultimate midgets.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                  I thought that as odd.
                  Ferdinand 33, Scholes 35, Giggs 38, Van Persie 31, Evra 31.
Is Vidic 30 as well? Carrick 30/31?

Carrick brings down the average - his age isn't factored in because it's like he's not on the pitch.

Ask United fans and they say he's the best midfielder in the country

Then there's Rafael, Jones, Welbeck, Cleverley, Kagawa, Powell, Evans etc

I think that table is only going by the first 6 game line-ups though.

I know. I heard one of them claim three years ago that Jonny Evans was one of the best centre backs in the league. Mind you many of us thought Enrique was that good a year ago.

Carrick offers nothing - the Stewart Downing of central midfield. I thought he'd probably end up a good player when he went there but he hasn't developed at all.

Some of us were saying it would only be a matter of time before Enrique forced his way into the Spanish national team

Carrick is an odd player, he seems to go through patches of almost superhuman anonymity but when United are at their best he usually seems to be in the team. There are lots of good elements of his game but he never seems to put them together himself - he needs a Scholes or Giggs alongside him and sometimes a Fletcher to do the hard work.

Yeah, it's like a mystery why he isn't the first name on the team sheet.

When United are playing well they have several players in the team who are better than he is so I think even then he's being carried. He's a decent passer but that's it. I just don't see what else he does. Then again I don't watch Manchester United much or closely because they infuriate me by not losing often enough.
