I feel sorry for Rodgers. In my opinion he's the wrong man at the wrong time - or maybe the right man at the wrong time. I hope I'm wrong, but we have too many problems for such an inexperienced manager to resolve.

The ideal time would have been before Kenny and Damien spunked most of our cash into some kitchen towel. I do think the owners are committed to patience with him because they know they can't afford a quick turn-around of players and I hope the fans share that patience.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Only Allen was a proper first team purchase really. The rest was filling up squad places on the cheap (Borini wasn't pricey for a striker and he'd have been third choice if we'd managed to off-load and replace Carroll). I'm pretty sure that he would spend the amount of money the last lot did on higher quality. I still think Allen is hard to judge as the team aren't playing anything like way that Swansea did where he made his name. We'll see, but he's already shown early on what he can do, which is more than Henderson ever has for example.Last edited by Kenneth; 16-12-12, 03:03 AM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

New Owners New Direction and a whole load of money to throw at the New Owners Vision and Direction of the Club, with a New Manager to help engineer that shared vision. They screwed up royally.

Your turnaround--the bad kind--is still baffling to me. I distinctly remember you being one of the more positive ones and within a matter of two or three matches you were a self-professed pessimist. Then we won three in a row and I didn't really notice much commentary from you, but now we've lost another (and quite embarrassingly, of that there is no doubt) and your cynicism is again apparent. Anyway, I don't mean to single you out, but the transformation seems notable.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI'm beginning to wonder if the present manager's signings represent better value than the previous one's? It's safe to say that generally the last few years have been terrible in terms of new players Suarez excepted.

Rodgers should be judged next season or the season after (unless there are signs that we're getting worse). Thought we were a bit flat today and our final pass, as always, has not been good.
There are concerns that we're conceding too many goals too easily through counter attacks. It's about getting the balance right which we don't quite have at the moment. Results like this shows that talks of a 4th place finish is premature. The players maybe are not yet ready for the challenge. Are we winning?

in not a big fan I admit it.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostNo, it is the result influencing you perception of the game and your petty dislike of Rodgers, probably mixed in with some astrological bollocks too.
The systems not right either for a big club like Liverpool. The midfield problems that were there in august are still there now which shows a lack of tactical flexibility.
Ask yourself why are we so easy to counter and have been all season. But yes in not convinced he's the right man to take us forward but lets wait until he gets his own players in Jan.
But I don't see how sturridge and once will bolster our soft midfield.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

We actually played pretty well yesterday but the squad is too thin with not enough game changers in it at the moment.
I think people forget the mess we were in and rebuilding a squad takes time and money, in the summer we were never going to have managed to plug all the gaps we had/have in the squad without the sort of financing that City or Chelsea have.
It was a bad result yesterday and that happens to every team from time to time, how they and Rodgers react will be important as every side is dropping points and we've got to try and stay as close as we can to the top 4 come the end of the December fixtures.
Rodgers needs to be backed in January to bring in some much needed firepower to the side.

I think it has to do with people not being truly convinced, yes they were happy with the un-beaten run we were on, felt we were getting somewhere, but because they don't truly trust BR, or worry about his credentials to do the lfc job, it's all too easy to fall back into a pessimistic outlook.
Only time will change that, and consistency.

Some people care too much what others think. I wasn't going to get carried away by our purple patch of three wins, similarly I'm not going to panic about one loss. Looking at our season so far we have been very poor and there's little to be optimistic about. I'm obviously hoping that Rodgers turns things around, but I'm just not convinced by him.
