Our defence was rubbish and our attack was too. The midfield were even worse. I can't find any positives from the game today.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostWe also had the vast majority of the attacking play and made many more chances. Our issue comes from the low quality of chances week often make, with our lack of player who score an our poor decision making around the box.

Ok, I think we are no way near as bad as we have been made out. I think if we were the match stats would have looked a lot different.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostOur defence was rubbish and our attack was too. The midfield were even worse. That is the only important stat today.
I'm not raging about the result against Aston Villa or anything. I feel quite indifferent towards Rodgers and the team at the moment. I don't see the positives that some people seem to see, I don't see how we've progressed since Kenny was in charge.

I did not think we were as bad as people made us out to be last year. But Hey ho..the stats 'proved' otherwise
Don't worry Once the saviour Lucas is back this system will be as it is meant to be.

I was one of the positive people when Rodgers took charge, I felt that he could be the right man to guide us back to greatness. Maybe he still is that man? He needs to get the basics sorted - get the defence and spine of the team organised, stop giving the ball away cheaply, aim to regain possession as quickly as possible when we lose the ball. We have enough talent in the team to achieve a reasonable position in the league, we just need the manager to organise the team and get the best out of the players we have. At the moment Rodgers is failing badly. He needs time, but there are minimum expectations and he is way off target.

One of the biggest disappoints for me with Rodgers is the failure to see that Pressing game develop since he has taken over. He talked about it much when we took over and 25 games (overall) or so played so far, where is it?

He's an inexperienced manager who inherited a declining team relying on inexperienced players who aren't ready to play week-in week-out. I don't blame Rodgers, I just think he's out of his depth. He could make things happen, I haven't dismissed that completely. I think his approach is wrong with the players he has at his disposal. What do I know anyway?Originally posted by Baracus View PostAgain

I think it's mostly the midfield. Allen has been utterly ****e since the first few games, Gerrard is no better and the wide players are a 17 year old, a failed Kenny signing in Downing, Assaidi who was a cheapo option with no end product and a LB. Allen is Brendan's doing and he should be getting the best out of him, but isn't. Gerrard is a very tough one for the manager, he clearly wouldn't be getting a game if he wasn't a liverpool legend and club captain and there's nowt he can do about it, just got to carry him. And I don't think he's to blame for the fact we have one of the worst attacking line-ups in the league. We have the players at the back to be more solid than we are, but when the team just isn't clicking then then back four get exposed.
He isn't getting a team with a large helping of overpaid ****e to gel , and maybe someone else could, but that shouldn't be the measure of him. He needs a handful of new players, time, and imo he needs to drop Gerrard, but I doubt he can which is a real shame.Last edited by Kenneth; 16-12-12, 02:48 AM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
