I reckon some of the committee will go. Someone has to be accountable for this mess. Maybe Fallows, Edwards or Hunter. Or all of them. Someone new will come in to effectively run the show on the football side of things. Maybe Monchi, maybe someone else. There's been loads of rumours now that Mike Gordon has come to prominence that Ian Ayre will effectively be demoted. I think we'll see that materialise. Back to commercial or finance or something.

So Rodgers, having refused to work under a DoF when he was appointed, will have to agree to a new man coming and to all intents and purposes agree to work under him. I don't think the new kingpin will be called the Director of Football, I think it'll be another title as part of their tiered model, but I think he will be the top man for football/recruitment stuff. Of course Rodgers refused to work under a DoF when he was appointed (van Gaal was all ready to go as our DoF). I think FSG will want Rodgers to stay but if he refuses to work under new guy then they'll **** him off.

Loads of stabs in the dark there but there simply has to be changes - not a chance we go through this summer with everything staying the same. So for now I reckon the plan is for Rodgers to stay under a tweaked set-up - hence all this stuff in the press about Brendan being safe. But as I said, if he kicks up a fuss then it'll be see you later pal.
Like you say, plenty of stabs in the dark there but you'd imagine the axe will fall on a lot of people after whats gone on this season, these lot aren't going to listen to excuses for very long.

I can see the logic to your thinking though and wouldn't be too surprised or unhappy if thats the route we follow. Rodgers is FSG's man, not many others fit the profile if he were to leave but I'd take a stab someone Eddie Howe might be in their thoughts.

One thing I am certain of is whatever is going to happen needs to be sorted pretty much immediately after the season finishes. I also wouldn't be feeling very comfortable on my flight to Boston if I were Rodgers, first class or not.

Monchi would be a no brainer if we could tempt him to see us as a long term project. He is very talented, has a great eye for talent, and has a huge scouting network in place with the majority of them working through him rather than them being hired directly by Sevilla.

He has the right sort of contacts all over Europe and beyond, has lots of experience in the role, and being an ex player he understands that side of the game too.

His multilingualism is another plus as he can converse directly to scouts, agents, players, and club officials from a number of countries without the need of translators and as such there is less chance of him not being able to make the points he wants to make in order to get the job done.

Shaggy is probably right, but I'd like a new manager. One that can set up a defence.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Defence is so old school, its about goals in this league, get as many as you can. Its that simple.

I don't think he has to go at all costs, and I think last season leaves him with some credit in the bank. But there has to be changes at the club

That said, per the quoted part, if we could get Klopp now, I would be all for it

He won't be available after the summer I wouldn't think

Klopp is the only manager I would part ways with Brendan for ... Hes been progressing .. last year was the best fun I have had as a Liverpool fan ever ... and I mean "fun" to watch ... we were the best team in the Lg last year by a mile, we played the more attractive football ... he has shown with the right tools he can get the job done ... How does everyone think United would have fared this year with Borni Lambert and Balloteli up front ... its obvious we need a couple of big hitters this summer, if the board, committee or who ever fail to deliver stand up and take notice signings the fans will turn on FSG in a very big way that much is obvious

As for the 'mentally weak' comment, I don't think that is black and white. We were playing poorly and everyone went on about the dressing room being lost and then we turned it around. That requires strength of mind and determination. On the other hand we have ****ed up opportunities when under pressure. There does seem to be an element of fragility there but also I think there are tactical and talent issues.

We just don't seem to have that hunger to win. I've said it already but we only beat teams that don't turn up. Anyone with a sense of intent or battle in them, we struggle against. Just haven't been up for the fight this season. It's personnel on the pitch first and foremost but it all boils down to the manager. Whether it's team choice or signings, Rodgers has to take responsibility for failing on seven fronts this season. The transfer committee should also be held accountable too to a certain extent but I fail to believe it's a case of 'we'll sign this player and you have to fit him into the team'. As an example, I don't think Lovren (even though I don't think he's as bad as he's shown this season) is a £20m defender. That was clear just by watching the WC. Unfortunately, everything points to Lovren being Rodgers choice as a PL 'established player'.

Never mind all that. If Ayre gets demoted his misses might leave him and become a free agent
