IMO United will be very strong next year, no matter what financial troubles United have they always, ****ing always manage to fork out on big money signings, Chelsea have done some fantastic business with summer & with Cahill aswell, there is no way Wenger will let Arsenal drop they will always be there and there abouts.

City have an incredible side and will strengthen even more, Spurs have a very good side and thus far have made two very good signings in Sigurrsson and Vertongen & no doubts they'll make some more with the Modric money. Newcastle have a very solid team, great continuity there and will be tough opposition. As for their injuries... well the same applies to us as we have to improve our squad. Some absolute dross still left there.

We have so much to do as regards our football, attacking play & general finishing (which is embarrassing). I have no doubts will will be better than last year but i do not expect us to get 4th. I'd be happy being there or there abouts.
    on the plus side.......
    Lucas is back
Hopefully Gerrard will play more than half a season,
Spearing & Carragher wont get many premier starts,
Borini will be better than he showed yesterday
    Suarez isnt banned.

I do worry about our lack of goals in midfield at the moment and getting Allen isnt going to help that!

some good positives alright mate. Hopefully Lucas can get back to the way he was playing, Gerrard... well if he can stay injury free he will be a massive player for us, Suarez IMO will score alot of goals this season.

given Borini looked poor but also looked tenative to say the least. But our next few signings have to be spot on. CM field player that can get us playing football & keep the team constantly ticking over & a good winger that can actually beat a man and get balls into the box.

This season will be an interesting one, i just feel that expectations have to be seriously lowered, i know the oul rally call happens but we are in a transitional period, new manager, new system & new players (god willing praise Jesus!!) that will have to gel with existing ones... oh and add a horrific early fixture that could really see pressure being put on Rogers.

It's going to be a tough task for Rogers, and i'm prepared to shut my gob once there is a step in the right direction. And sure hope that come next season we are in a much better position to challenge for 4th spot.

How much we improve and how quickly we adapt to his system will largely depend on the players we bring in.

Tiki Taka requires intelligent players who don't treat the ball like a hot potato to keep possession. It requires energetic players to close down. But every successfull version of Tiki Taka that I've seen, whatever the level, has had pace up top.

One of Swanseas tactics last season was a ball from deep to Dyer or Sinclair. Defence to attack in one ball. They tended to play the short ball the majority of the time, but they'd use this tactic to stretch the play and give them more room in midfield.

We tried this tactic a few times v Spurs last night, but it only looked worthwhile when Sterling was on the pitch.

I sense a season like last unless we make some quality moves in the transfer market.
        Forwards.......

I think we will see a lot of that ball in the early stages of Rodgers' tenure; it's a good option to have and I think it will be used to create a lot of 3 v 2 scenarios, because we don't have the wide options to beat the opposition 1 v 1.

I hate the phrase Tiki Taka. Can't we just call it pass and move?

And the constant referral to the Rodgers 'system'.

Perhaps we could run with the never-ending Barcelona comparisons.

Perhaps we'll see this at Anfield in the warm up.

I'm sure Adam would excel at this ...

EDIT: Why can't I embed it purlease?

if we tried that then i could see chad putting a couple of his team mates in hospital with his swiftness of foot and intelligent interceptions
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

we should use him as our secret weapon to take out players we really hate.
