I would expect them to do well in their own league cos they've spent like drunken sailors for years and the league is weak . having looked at it It's not as weak as I thought though so he's doing well compared to his predecessor. In Europe I think they'd be very disappointed not to be ahead of Leverkusen in that group.

As I said I don't want him and don't think he be an improvement, his most successful season here was helped massively by Gareth Bale's genius. Sounds familiar.

I didn't really expect us to have much success in Europe this season mainly due to Rodgers' inexperience, but I didn't expect us to be so abysmal in the league. He has been unlucky, but our expectations were raised last season. It's difficult to manage the demands of both competitions, but the league is still our priority. Tonight was winnable and we should have been adventurous in our approach, playing a negative defensive team was just stupid. I can't get my head around the team selection tonight, did anyone think it was the right team to put out? Allen, Lucas, Gerrard and Henderson?! John Henry would be well within his rights to tell Rodgers any signings in January have to be self financing.
