Dyer (Silva) // Allen (Lucas) // Britton (Suso? or Gerrard?) // Sinclar (Sterling)
    Graham (Suarez)

That’s 10. Who’s the 11th player Swansea regularly relied on? Must be a midfielder I’m missing but I can’t think of the name.
    when did we buy silva?

I think it could be a valid point to separate the two points - manager and system/style though. I think there are more commonalities between what we tried last season and what Rodgers appears to want to do than is sometimes made out. Both tweaks to the system/style and a different attitude from the manager (and/or coaches) could impact on the performance of individuals.
Time will tell on that one. Rodgers has certainly said this himself in interviews, but what I do know is that we pretty much played nothing like Swansea last season. The formation was different, we defended differently, we pressed differently, we passed differently, we attacked differently...

Personally, I think we'll see something of a hybrid (Dalglish / Rodgers) system this season, as I think Rodgers has been burned in the past trying to change too much too quickly.

I hope that we are ultimately aiming to play dominant, possession based football though - afterall, that's the brand of football that got Rodgers the job in the first place.

That's 9 if you count Gerrard and Suso...

I also don't think Dalglish did himself any favours either. You can get away with being a cunt to the media when you're winning, but when you start losing, the knives come out.

Hodgson is another example of how the media can spin things in your favour.

            Play the game, Brendan
There's a difference between being straight forward with the media in press confrences/pre/post match interviews, and overtly going out of your way to ingratiate yourself with them - especially ******s on Talk****e.

Nothing wrong with going out of your way to ingratiate yourself with the media in my opinion. They're a powerful influence on a lot of people (including many of our own fanbase). As I said before, it's all a game. Hopefully Rodgers can play it better than Rafa and Dalglish did.

if buck is going to play a more mobile approach, less rigid, flowing system then you'd think the players need to have more intelligence and awareness of whats happening around them and fill in where needed.

i struggle to get my head around how a donkey like charlie adam will ever contribute to a system like that
                surely the first one out...

One thing is apparent from perusing opposition message boards. Buck seems pretty much universally liked, admired and respected by other fans (whether that changes because he committed the henious crime of becoming LFC manager and everyone hates us is yet to be seen) and the media.

I defo think this is a positive thing, especially with the media.

Rafa's biggest problem was that he had the temerity to stand up to media-favourite Ferguson, whereas Kenny was just unnecessarily combative in response to mostly reasonable lines of questioning.

The most important thing for Brendan is that he does a good job and has the backing of the ownership group - if he's got that backing then a media love-in is completely unnecessary. What we don't want is somebody that ends up being poor at the job yet enjoys unflinching support from media, a la Bodge, although I'm confident that the ownership group wouldn't be swayed by said media in those circumstances.

It was just all out gung ho attacking mindless football. Just imagine AVB's Porto team or Newcastle United from the early 90's but with less brain cells.

Honestly mate, there are ten positions I've put up there. Maybe you're missing Dyer and Allen as they are so close together.

So anyone know the 11th player that Swansea relied on that I'm missing?
