I'm nowhere near as depressed watching us this season as I was under Kenny and Bodger

Dan why were you depressed watching us under kenny.
Hodgson I understand but kenny had us playing some really nice football. The pass and move stuff was supertb at times.
Again problems go back to goal scoring and dont forget we hit the woodwork nearly 40 times. The backend wasnt good though.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

For me it was the slow realisation that we'd wasted over £80 million in the transfer market, not to mention the painful realisation that Kenny wasn't up to the job anymoreOriginally posted by el matador View PostDan why were you depressed watching us under kenny.

Those two things really amplified the clueless football we seemed to exhibitK ris90210

He does but the question is if that will actually happen.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI hope it's not, because Rodgers needs time and investment. But when you've only won 2 out of 10 league games these sort of discussions will happen. It's no problem.
I said when we hired him that even though FSG didn't have any aspirations this year and that they chose him for a future if he had the similar types of results like Kenny that I wasn't sure that he would last more than a season and I still feel the same way.
In fairness, he is given a very modest budget (given the needs of the squad) and he inherited tons of baggage and crappy players but end of the day the pressure will start to climb up unless he can turn the corner.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I'd rather we see fair results (our current position) rather than a string of lucky wins. It means he/us can judge the progress of Rodger's team fairly and assess correctly the areas that need improvement.
Get rid of Downing, Carroll, Spearing and Cole please.
I think we should have been in for Berbatov. I think he'd be ****ing brilliant, great intelligence, strong and can score all kinds of goals. Was muß, das muß.

we were a suicidal back pass against City and a disallowed goal against Everton away for being a couple of points of fourth for sure.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

And we are creating loads of chances. I have seen people say that we lack penetration. That is not true at all.
Only concern is when we lose the ball we leave massive gaps behind. I think that is down to the fact that we're geared to attack, not defend. Rodgers' defensive set up is to press as soon as we lose the ball and we're still to master it.Are we winning?

I am not convinced that we create more chances and also that we have more penetration
We have more support at times to our forwards but we lack the ability to penetrate defences (other than Suarez)
Agree with the latter point regarding defending but I've seen nothing to suggest we are anywhere close to forming a coherent pressing / defensive system that would compliment the passing game Rodgers appears to want to playBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. The defensive organisation is my only worry and one which Rodgers doesn't seem to have a solution other than the high intensity pressing as soon as we lose it. Our shape when we can't regain the ball leaves us exposed. The emphasis is to keep the ball and not to lose it in dangerous positions but so many goals we've conceded happened when we lost the ball in an attacking and advanced position.
This does not seem to have been addressed sufficiently enough. We are just not compact enough and I doubt we can relentlessly press like this for a whole match.
Key in Rodgers' system is patience. We haven't been as patient as we should have, case in point our game against Newcastle. Are we winning?
