Thanjk you.

I think the key is to remain open minded. Obviously the league campaign is of to a shocker and in all reality could get worse before it gets better.
As long as people can face that then we have a chance of success. What we can do without is people getting on the teams back as that is when the wheels come off.
At present these little sound bites are what we'll have to cling too, because at present we have no results to show us that we will come good. I'm just thankful we had a good performance against the champions as that at least shows we are capable.
My final say on the matter is this. Had Pep Guardiola taken over Stoke I highly doubt he'd suddenly have them playing tika taka football with no issues. Same goes if Tony Pulis took over Swansea - they'd struggle playing to his percentage game.
It comes down to this - certain styles need certain personnel. Now a manager less confident in his ability to teach would not rush the team into a new style of play so quickly.
But this is Brendan Rodgers, and in all fairness to him, he's a very arrogant man. Not a bad thing, as it marks him out as one who will succeed at the top level.
But it does mean it will be a very bumpy road to start of with. It also means we will get to where we want to be quicker than introducing things slowly - but it will cost us early on this season and Rodgers knows this. Indeed he has mentioned and alluded to this on numerous occasions.
I really think that come Xmas we'll be in much better shape for it - my only hope is we keep in touch with those fighting for Europe so we can push on and challenge later on in the year.
tbf he's also been left short on options up front and we're without Lucas for a number of months yet again.
It's going to be a tough few months but it was encouraging to see our performance against City and the more we play in his style of football the better I believe we'll become
And it's obviously taken under consideration. I don't expect us to get a top 4 finish this season. To be honest, I think we won't be anywhere near it, but that won't make me want to "get rid".
TBF have you ever known a manager come in and say that he's going to be **** and the team will probably suffer a decline under his management? I think we exepct every manager to be incredibly positive. It's just interesting at this stage to hear just how erudite BR is, and how detailed he is in his approach, rather than just coming out with general Bodge / David Pleat / Harry Redknapp style cliches.
I'm pretty sure woy told us and everyone else we would be ****e, and we would lose before we even played when he came in.
This is great

So we all agree it's too early to tell whether Rodgers will be successful at Liverpool. The disagreement seems to be that:
Some are encouraged by what he says.
Others feel we should pay absolutely no attention to anything he says until he has proven himself successful which he can't do until he has won the league and the European Cup. Preferably repeatedly.
Personally I'm in the 1. camp but I admire those in the 2. camp for their steadfast determination not to rush to judgment.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
The only thing that matters is what happens on the pitch. Until I get a few months' impression of what Rodgers is trying to do with the team, getting enthusiastic over his words is wasted energy to me. The man is charismatic, I'll give him that, but whether he has what it takes to be a top manager remains to be seen. [Woy] Any fair minded observer would agree that this is a fair assessment [/Woy].
Absolutely but you have to be impressed with his vision and football IQ.
I really hope this guy succeeds and take us where we want to be.

Watching the game last week I was pretty concerned, it was very easy to pick up on fundamental tactical mistakes being made and it was interesting to see that Rodgers echoed all my concerns as well as embellishing further what was wrong and what he expects
And yes it is far too early to tell whether he will be successful or not
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
TBF, if anyone else can remember, Christian Gross talked a great game when he joined Spurs.
BR is different though and given patience and time to implement his philosophies I think we will be OK. I just pray that he is given the financial backing to get the top quality players that his vision deserves.
Did he?? I thought he was a lunatic from the first interview when he was waving around his tube ticket
He seemed to, in one press conference, address the concerns of most fans. I prefer this new open approach as it lets the fans know what the manager is thinking and it can be a comfort to us to know what areas are being addressed.
With all due respect to Dalglish, one of the things that may have contributed to his sacking was his disdain and lack of co-operation with the press. Although I completely agree with the morals of that, the pressure can become overwhelming when you don't have the press on your side. We were alienating ourselves from the rest of the footballing world with the way we were coming across in the press. While all the LFC fans knew the reality, most people make a snap judgement from snippets of Dalglish's press conferences.
I am not trying to put down Dalglish in any way, he just had a different style. He was naturally and rightly cynical of the press. Brendan I'm sure is just as cynical and intelligent enough to know how they operate but he knows there is more to be gained by having them on your side than coming across as a maverick. After all this is just football, this is not politics.
Its good to find a balance between the two. Brendan is in danger of becoming too open with the press but I think this will work more in our favour in the future.
