I like Rodgers, but without the backing of the owners he will not be afforded the patience to do his job. Trust me, we carry onlike this until the end of the season the knives will be out.
However, if he is allowed to bring in the quality players we need, the type of quality who can understand and apply his vision to the next level, then he will get us challenging very soon."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

Equally "death by football" hasnt achieved many results eitherOriginally posted by Nigey View PostYeah, we need to hoof it up, then win the second balls. That's how you get results in the premier league.
I think you have to look at it both sides their should be some middle ground
There are lots of ways to get from A to B there are no hard and fast rules either way. Results are the biggest indicator of whether you are going in the right way or not
Our league start has been absolutely woeful in terms of results and unless Rodgers starts to put points on the board then more questions will start to be asked about him and his ideals / tactics / systems etc....Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I for one think the Reina is too exposed and one of his strenghts is quick distribution, well we don't need that anymore, since as soon as we get the ball in play, we start passing it sideways and figure our way forward while the opposition mans the defence. It's too slow.

I said some of those, I've commented on Reina in reply to Lec, and IMO Johnson needs more space to make his runs, but we are so slow in building attacks that he will be weaving through four players. Agger is of course suited to this way, but I think he, along with Sahin is just as suitable, if not more, not a bit more direct play, Xabi played long passes frequently with good success, Sahin is capable of that.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostHow is the current way of playing not playing to the strengths of Reina, or Johnson, or Agger, or Sahin, or Allen? Nonsense innit.
I just feel we are restricting ourselves and limiting our offensive play to a large degree while also leaving ourselves way too open, don't see what's to gain. Name me one team today that's playing tiki taka with success that's not called Barcelona.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We should be using perspective here. We've lost 3 league games and have drawn a lot, that's not woeful though. It's not good enough, but woeful? Not really when you take into consideration the start of this season as an indication. Results have been certainly woeful if you analyse the whole of this year though, since the turn of the year. We were losing too many games last season, but have somewhat steadied that ship since the start of the season, though arguably we're drawing too many now.Originally posted by Lecter View PostEqually "death by football" hasnt achieved many results either

It's a steady improvement for me. It's not getting worse. Are we winning?

I'm not calling for Rodger's head, just want that to be clear, I'm question his method's and how he goes about them, but he has to get the full season. But I have to agree with Lec, the results are poor, Rodgers had the summer and should have adressed our problem areas, but he really didn't. The squad is small and unbalanced, he doesn't know the best midfield combo and shuffles it far too much. Our attack consists of a left back, an 18 year old and Suarez while Gerrard is sitting in midfield and unbalancing it. Bah, most of all I'm incredibly frustrated.Originally posted by Nigey View PostWe should be using perspective here. We've lost 3 league games and have drawn a lot, that's not woeful though.
