The answer is still clearcut for me but that's how there ended up being a discussion of the 2005 and current teams.

I think people were trying to be analytical, and look behind the bleeding obvious.

if you'd have said that in the first place then i would have posted differently. Yes i think rafa's a better manager than rodgers but that brendan given time could do good things.

one of the key questions fsg have to think about is that do they have the patience to give rodgers the time to develop into a top class manager which could be 6 days or 6 years. are they willing to put money into the squad every season with little reward until rodgers suddenly turns into god.

at the moment like any young manager he's got some learning to do but who hasnt.

the way rodgers is talking is that they've given him another three or four transfer windows to build the squad but how much more do we really need to get the squad balanced again. One centre back, one left back, one central midfield player and one attacking player plus whatever natural movements we have within the squad.

fsg have spent 50m this season and they're going to want to see a return.

if people come across too aggressively i reply back thats all mate but i dont go out of my way to abuse people.

i was fuming on wednesday night because we threw away a 2 goal lead which i think would have set us up for a run at fourth. i was frustrated and i shouldnt have sworn at you.

I apologise for that. but i just want us to win. i want to see champions league nights back at liverpool, i want to see the team win and most of my frustration comes down to the fact that i think we're hugely underperforming.

that imo comes down to the manager.

Was not hinting at having him sacked or asking for it. Just stating that some managers are tactically brilliant already at the infacy of their senior management years.

                    Apology accepted.

Perhaps you should look at the way you interact with people if you're not in a good mood. It doesn't reflect very well on you, and if you continue to do it, I can assure you that you'll quickly become a figure of ridicule.

rafas first league season was awful but what gave us hope was that in europe we had some brilliant results with such an ordinary team.

up to now rodgers hasnt shown us that he can pull results out of the hat where the odds are stacked against him. Sometimes to win you have to sacrifice your ideals just to get three points.

but he wants to stick to his plans which is commendable but it shows a bit of naivety and maybe a lack of experience.

It also imo shows a lack of understanding about football at the highest level because thats the approach you take when it comes to youth football where its not about winning but players and their development.

but for me anyway the first team is about winning and nothing else.

now see dom that comes across a double entendre.

and besides since when do i care what people think about me. its the internet ffs. no one loses sleep if they upset their 'internet buddies' dom.

but thanks for the psychology lesson and maybe i will have one of the nice mods replace the brian mcbride reference under my avatar to:

Everyone wants to see the team win and get back in the CL but we don't have a god given right to be there. This is a new manager and I think your expectations were completely unrealistic and maybe explains why you've been frustrated.
                              Are we winning?

Methinks Brendan keeps an eye on the oul media/internet/vibe....
In the immediate aftermath of the defeat to Oldham, amidst all the scrutiny and attention of the media, he let the world know in no uncertain terms that the blame for the defeat rested with the young players. Then, when all the fuss had died down and attention switched to a forthcoming game, he just slipped in that infact he was to blame (or at least shared as much blame) for the defeat. Classy.
