Yeah. Looks capable of lining up a team defensively without a defensive coach ... who'd have thunk it. What Rodgers is clearly struggling with is finding the balance between defence and attack. I'm sure that'll come with time.

I agree with the changes at the back, and with dropping Stevie. I'd like to have seen a bit more ambition going forward though - so Sterling and or Coutinho had to start. Add Henderson for Allen and we may had a chance of a result. Big pressure in the last 2 games now.

on the going forwards side of things.

That's easy to say after the game has been and gone

Performance was good, but largely ineffective in their half. Let's hope we can progress from here and get the attack back to something approaching last season. I stand by what I said, if it had been a beating, Rodgers may have been on the end of a big backlash, instead he's almost played a winner.

In answer to the question I posed earlier I think he showed he can go to these places and set us up right. Unlucky not to get a result tonight.

I dont think we did enough to win, so I don't think we were unlucky. Brendan was along the right lines with his changes, but not the right XI for me.

No, IMO hes struggling with what to do with Gerrard, Lucas was good tonight.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Not to win no, but we showed we can go to these places and keep it tight which will help us get draws/nick wins in future, it's not something we've seen from a Rodgers team before. A draw there would have been awesome.

Defensively we got it right the final 3rd not quite but you can see the potential with Stering, Coutinho and Sturridge as well.

Its obviously a massively steep learning curve for Brendan. He is a good young manager (42 FFS, only 3 years older than me). Whatever happens he will learn a lot from this season.

I think he HAS to drop Lovren now. Toure showed the positional sense and experience that Lovren lacks. Then it is up to Lovren to fight his way back into the team. There seemed better balance about the team tonight.... but we still lost.... We need a win.

Sturridge is the key. Can't wait until he is back, the team that finished the game had promise.

No chance of this side but I'd be playing

                          Mig

                          Manquillo
                          Toure
                          Skrtel
                          Moreno

                          Lucas
                          Can
                          Henderson

                          Coutinho
                          Sterling
                          Borini or Mario

Replace the front Man in my 11 above with Sturridge and I think it looks a strong side

just missing that bit of quality up top.

Aye we are but service is non existent too, could see Sturridge struggling at this rate too. We're getting there defensively though; maybe that's the next step for Rodgers et al.
