It's as good as saying almost any manager could have got us close with Torres in the side in 2008/9.

I agree to a certain extent, while i don't think it was ALL down to Suarez and or Sturridges form, i do think it was a massive part of it, and served to flatter Rodgers abilty to a certain extent.

      Just an opinion.

        I don't think so.

Maybe, but look at what that manager did with teams that Torres didn't play for.

Brendan as far as i can see has had one really good season in his managerial career, he did well at Swansea i know, but who doesn't.

That's the case with all managers though Rafa in 08/09 had an on fire Gerrard and Torres you could aim the same thing at him in so much without them he'd not have got close.

Football is a team sport that needs the players and the coaching set up working together to get the best from what they've got.

Suarez wanted to leave during the summer of 2013. He was also serving a ban for biting Yet Rodgers got the best out of him in 2013/14. Easy to forget.
              Another MASSIVE game

However if he'd given me £7m when he fired me I too would be saying classy things about him to this day

Hodgson? Steve Bruce? Maybe Tony Pulis would have won us the league with his renowned ability to set up team defensively?
                  Are we winning?

Getting sacked sucks though, so he's done well to release anything at all, and maybe creative writing is not his thing

He should probably prepare himself for the fact he will never see John Henry or Tom Werner again.

But look at what he did in his other seasons. Rafa wasn't a one season wonder. And as good as Torres and Gerard were they weren't Suarez good. He was a different level altogether (which is saying something).

Our defence under Rodgers was rubbish, his game plan was basically give the ball to Suarez and let the magic happen. There was no tactical genius underpinning our title tilt.

Pulis might have done. He's a decent manager, I just don't like him.

Yeah, I agree with you mostly. Suarez is the big reason for our title tilt but Rodgers did help by setting up the field for him and accommodating his genius. Like his conversion of Gerrard to deep-lying playmaker and coming up with the 4-4-2 diamond which gave the platform for our both star strikers to shine.

Rafa is, of course, the more accomplished manager.
