I do prefer him in a more advanced position but I'm really not sure where to put him once Suarez is back.

I suppose you could play him, Suarez and Coutinho behind Suarez and Henderson or Allen alongside Lucas.

Dunno. He's still good in the deeper role but I just feel that we miss his goals from open play and his ability to make things happen in the box.

I think we're over reliant on Suarez in that formation mate

I think Rodgers should sub Gerrard after an hour against the lesser sides. His mobility & stamina have deteriorated with age, & is exacerbated by his continued participation with the national team. I think this is the reason why we're sitting so deep in the 2nd half. Move Henderson into the middle alongside Lucas & bring on Sterling, Ibe or Alberto.

Gerrard didn't play any game for six days. If he is still tired after playing no games in six days then he isn't exactly fit. Then something is wrong.

IMO.

If Gerrard is tired after playing for the national team then he should stop playing for them. The club comes first and he should only play for the national team if it don't affect his performances for us.

Gerrard has been adapting his game over the past couple of years as his stamina and power have faded () - he's still in the process of doing this and I'm sure he is good enough to evolve. I am wondering what kindof role he's playing at the moment though. He's not got the legs to be a box to box player. Isn't good enough defensively to look after that side of things by himself. I think he needs to try and become the type of player Neville was banging on about the other day - the glue that connects the entire team. I'd like to see him play a little more conservatively when we're under the cosh - he's got the experience and the skills to do it.
