Best player to have played for us IMO. Kenny was awesome and it's close but the number of years he's churned out performances especially when for a lot of it the players around him were just not good enough is staggering.

That's the key for me.

He played with much weaker squad than Kenny did over these years and for me as well he is the best of the best.

He was absurdly good yesterday just leading the boys into battle. He set the tone in the first ten minutes. You don't read the 'Gerrard should be left out' posts on here anymore either! His evolution into the controller role has been remarkable but not surprising for the best English footballer of his generation. An incredible player who you'll be telling people in 20/30 years time just how good he was and privileged to have seen him play.

I feel privileged to have seen him play live when Liverpool played Melbourne Victory. Such a player.

I also saw Suarez too but I felt a bit ill because he was sulky but still managed some nice skill to set up Aspas for the last minute goal.

Rodgers: Why Steven is a peerless pro

Brendan Rodgers struggled for adjectives to sum up Steven Gerrard's latest meticulous display for Liverpool, but eventually opted for 'incredible' and 'peerless' to describe the No.8.

The 33-year-old captain was the metronome at the heart of the manager's team against Manchester United on Sunday, pushing his side forward with technical quality and sheer force of will.

"The two guys up front speak for themselves, they're a real threat. Maybe if we had shown that final pass a bit more, we could have had more goals. But it was an outstanding team performance and a great result.

"It confirms that we're getting better and confirms that we can go to any arena. 2009 was the last time that Liverpool won here.

"I know that was a convincing performance that day, but this will be equally, if not more. The supporters really enjoyed that. It's a great result; we just need to stay calm, stay focused and get ready for next weekend."

Stevie finally, finally has transformed into Alonso. Was hoping this happened sooner but better late than never. So he did have it in him after all. I had my doubts but now he's finally shown he is the most complete midfielder ever.
