Loved when he nutted Fellaini. Take that you cunt.
He has matured into such an inspirational leader of men. In fact he always had that inspirational thing - see Istanbul - but there's an aura about him now and how he's leading this team. How he spoke to Teixeira at Fulham is a great example of it. As he's getting older he's so much more impressive as a man and a leader. He's also getting better looking.
Also, he obviously loves playing with better players - he trusts them and is happy to stick within his remit and not try to do everything himself. You could see it in 2009 when we had Alonso, Mascherano, Torres etc, and you can see it again now.
After he flirted with Chelsea twice I was never quite the same with him but as he's blossomed in the last 18 months into this magnificent leader I've found I am in awe of him again. Get goosebumps thinking about what a magnificent ******* he is.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He was absurdly good yesterday just leading the boys into battle. He set the tone in the first ten minutes. You don't read the 'Gerrard should be left out' posts on here anymore either! His evolution into the controller role has been remarkable but not surprising for the best English footballer of his generation. An incredible player who you'll be telling people in 20/30 years time just how good he was and privileged to have seen him play.Last edited by john316; 17-03-14, 04:55 PM.

i'm not putting too much on the "deserves to win a title"
yes i'd ****ing love him to do it - but at the same time, i don't think it can (even tho rival fans will cling onto it to do so) be used as a stick to beat him with or measure his career.
he's won everything else in the game...and not just won them but played major major parts in winning them.
there is more important things than titles.....for me it's his legacy....premier league title or not, in 20, 30, 40 years time his name will be sung on the kop and we will be telling grandchildren about how he was the greatest lfc player ever.
look at people like Owen, 'sold his soul' for a premier league medal.....forgotten man of football, no real affiliation with any club now. Now legacy/legendary status - sometimes there are more important things than winning medals.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Its true what you say, but for what he has done in his career (and is still doing) it would be an absolutely fitting achievement at this stage of that amazing careerOriginally posted by PTP View Posti'm not putting too much on the "deserves to win a title"

Perhaps it wasn't Gerrard, but more you that got it wrong?Originally posted by CAD View PostHe was in the way. Now he isn't. He is a great asset once again.
I mean, to quote you ...
Except for ...Originally posted by CADIm spot on as per usual. Just the way it is...
Originally posted by CADLove Stevie and what he has meant for the club but he is over the top, isn't he?. He isnt even half the footballer he was in 2006. He was UTTER ****E yesterday....again...compared to what he used to clock in that is...
Imagine if he could put in a performance like Pirlo did yesterday at the tender age of 33. But he doesnt really have the technical level to do that - does he?
I think its time to consider if LFC could spend his 130.000£ a week wages on something better.
Oh, and ...
Originally posted by CADBut he isnt a game changer anymore at all. He looks like he has zero confidence and even less ability. There is only the hype left at this stage. Sadly. I dont think LFC or England will get any where trying to build around him. That ship has sailed...
And ...
Originally posted by CADI honestly believe that he has lost the ability to clock in a performance like the cup final in 2006. I also think he lost the "loving feeling". There is no passion left in him, is there?
I believe that he is done for as a footballer at 130K a week level. When was the last time we saw Stevie? 2008? Since then his level has been an overall embarrassment give or take a few matches considering where he came from and what he used to bring.
Lemme see what else is about ...
Originally posted by CADYou think he is the at the same level as he was in 2008 and I don't.

Originally posted by CADSomething like that. I understand that Gerrard is our Talisman and that most here think that the sun shines out of his ass. Im just not that overwhelmed by his performance. Not for us the last 3 years or for the National side either. I think he played a great game against Croatia in the qualifier where he really stood out but other than that I dont think he peaks often enough - if ever these days.
All I am saying is that the 2006 version is not available anymore and that the 130000£ a week could probably be used better than on a 32 year old Talisman that hasnt really delivered the gods for quite a while. Yes, the Everton game was good and a few other performances has been ok but in general.
I dont mean to offend any of you - I just don't think he is that good anymore. Certainly not a player to build around these days. Injury prone and too old.
