1 yellow away from 2 game suspension. Cards are wiped on 14th April, but we've 4 matches before then. Personally I'd be tempted to take a hit against Sunderland, miss the Spurs and West Ham game to make sure he's available for City and Chelsea.Originally posted by marksared View PostCan anyone shed some light on the possible suspension situations seeing as Stevie is picking yellows up for fum atm.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He has matured into such an inspirational leader of men. In fact he always had that inspirational thing - see Istanbul - but there's an aura about him now and how he's leading this team. How he spoke to Teixeira at Fulham is a great example of it. As he's getting older he's so much more impressive as a man and a leader. He's also getting better looking.
Also, he obviously loves playing with better players - he trusts them and is happy to stick within his remit and not try to do everything himself. You could see it in 2009 when we had Alonso, Mascherano, Torres etc, and you can see it again now.
After he flirted with Chelsea twice I was never quite the same with him but as he's blossomed in the last 18 months into this magnificent leader I've found I am in awe of him again. Get goosebumps thinking about what a magnificent ******* he is.
Every word.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

so should he take a booking weds night
- get it out the way - miss spurs/west ham - get lucas back in for those games?
the way he's playing he will get booked - every single 'defensive' mid always gets booked
no way he will go three games without a booking.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Nah, just keep going as we are, he'll have to be on his best behaviour and if it happens it happens, all well and good planning how he's available for the City game but if we **** up before then it becomes pretty irrelevant anyway. We battered them for long spells away without him, we'll do it again at Anfield if we have to.

Was thinking the same myself.Originally posted by john316 View PostI'd actually look at leaving Gerrard on the bench for the Sunderland game. Give Lucas 90 mins and knock a game out the way.
Also wouldn't be surprised to see Allen cover for Gerrard if he did get suspended. It's a big ask for Lucas coming back from injury, although that's all the more reason to get him as much game time as possible in the next few fixtures.
Think Gerrard is a cert to miss the Chelsea match. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yep, plus I don't think Gerrard is capable of playing anything else. He goes all in mentally to a game, and I doubt he will be holding back at any point thinking about 9 yellow cards. Just not his style of play.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAgreed. Just play his natural game. Lucas is back to cover him now so it wouldn't be a *total* calamity.

start gerrard, get a yellow, sub for lucas so he can get 30 minutes at the end of the game to sharpen up once we are 4-0 upOriginally posted by john316 View PostI'd actually look at leaving Gerrard on the bench for the Sunderland game. Give Lucas 90 mins and knock a game out the way.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

I'd start him and if we have a big lead I'd sub him then and only then.
Every game from now on is of the equal importance.
If he picks up a yellow so be it.
Midfield Lucas, Allen, Hendo and Coutinho did well while he was hurt around Christmas.Last edited by Mostar; 24-03-14, 08:52 PM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
