A bit corny I know, but we had real men then. Now we do lack the physical presence around the pitch IMO and maybe get bullied more.

You corny fool Yeah agree, we're lacking leaders now in the team. Around that time we had virtually an entire team of natural leaders:

Reina, Carragher, Hyypia, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard, Kuyt.

All of those guys stood up to be counted and had tons of experience. We're very short in that regard these days.

I can't see BR dropping him, I really can't. I mean how many managers in football would have the balls to drop him ? Ferguson, Mourinho and possibly Wenger.

I think he can play a bigger part than Carragher does, but 90 minutes twice a week is too much for him now.

I think it's a bit of both mate. We can't and shouldn't rely on him anymore and BR is asking him to adapt his game.

Hate to say it but he's been really, really poor this season. Is it age? Injuries caught up with him? Not sure but I don't think you can blame they players around him for his form.

Agree with Tee to an extent, put him right up there with Suarez and leave DM to Lucas + Allen/Henderson. Sterling on the left and Suso on the right. Its the best we can offer Gerrard but he has to promise not to drop deep to try his hollywood balls too often.
