Sorry what game you talking about?

Newcastle & Swansea both had one chance that was gifted to them and ended up being a goal. Other than that, I don't remember much else. Sadly, the same could be said for our side and that's why we struggled in both games.
    Forwards.......

We finish fourth and Gerrard retires would be the best outcome this season.

expect to see him being given a go at right back next
if we'd started with Lucas today we could have brought on a fresh Gerrard when chasing the game

I completely agree with this, but gerrard is our captain and would throw his toys out the pram. Brendan needs to grow a pair of balls on this one.

Gerrard at DM certainly is a problem. He is non existent in games, the odd 50 yard hollywood ball.

Playing Stevie there is affecting the players when can choose in front or beside him. Means that we can't be versatile in our midfield selection & tactics because we need players around him to cover up for his defensive weaknesses.

Gerrard has been poor all season and just wish Rodgers had the balls to drop him

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I think he needs to sit on the bench for a couple of games and be used as an impact sub further up the pitch. Just go out and give 20 or 25 minutes of ball busting brilliance nearer to the opposition's goal while we are lacking the creativity and movement of Sturridge. Can or Lucas could sit as the DM - get Steven on as a game changer rather than **** like Joe Allen.

Was really, really ****e today. Worst in recent memory.

There was one situation today where a few years back he'd have gone steaming into a tackle, today he just went in half hearted and that I found heart breaking.

He'll never be the player he once was, find that hard to take.

Do you know the absolute saddest thing? This wasn't his worst performance in recent memory. And that's heartbreaking because he's the only one left that can't see it. It hurts when a legend enters this phase.

I remember it with Maradona in his final world cup. I almost wept, just as I do with Stevie now.

                              Bit melodramatic?

His performances haven't been good lately but with a few team changes it's quite possible he could be back to the form he showed last season.

You talk like he's a thoroughbred who's failed his last jump and the vet's come on to draw the curtain round him.

It's like the failure last season has finished him off, as if he realises his only chance at the league has gone and that he can't motive himself again, especially after the start we've had. I wish he'd retire now and preserve his incredible legacy as much as possible.
