I think that we need to do with Gerrard what Man Utd were doing with Giggs for the last five years, he can't play game after game. We need to firstly get him to accept this and then pick which games we want him to play in and let him go all out in those games knowing he will have a week or so to recover. For me playing him in his best role for 1 game in 3 is better than playing him for 3 games in the role he's in at the moment. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

His best role is off the bench and he can still do that every game.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think that we need to do with Gerrard what Man Utd were doing with Giggs for the last five years, he can't play game after game. He was like a ghost today, completely invisible.
What's got me the most is that he's lost his passion, he very rarely if ever steams into tackles anymore, his fight has gone completely.
Today he was just wandering around aimlessly, doesn't help again that he's being played in a role that just doesn't suit him or the team but he's gone dog**** this season.
Looks dead.

brendan, did you not see how lucas helped steady the defence and gerrard looked like he could be less of a liability/make more of a worthy contribution further up the pitch.
if you do this again then
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

It's sad but the reality is he will be gradually eased out and I am just happy we seem so fluid and positive without him. I actually think the fact he is not there in the centre has created space for Coutinho to function and control the game. Still, the greatest ever English player and am gutted his days are coming to a slow end."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
