I don't blame Gerrard for us losing that game or for not winning the league. But it is a bug bear of mine when people go on about that 'slip'. The **** up was not the slip it was his poor first touch.

Apology doesn't change what happened, he's supposed to be a senior pro not some impetuous teenager. What he did, especially in the context of the game and league table, is both unacceptable and unforgivable.

I don't know how you arrive at any rating - be it 1, 2 or whatever. He played for 38 seconds, made one great tackle and then got sent off. No rating surely. Or 0.
